I am a professional cabinet maker and this would be my first book of reference. I have found it useful both as a trainee and as a more experienced craftsman. Its best attribute is its self explanatory nature so it is possible to learn techniques from it alone. It covers practically every aspect of the craft that you will ever need.

A great book but it is word for word/ page for page identical to The Technique to Furniture Making. Don't buy both books even though Amazon says that most people who bought this book bought the other one as well.

Yes, the photographs (which are black and white and rather muddy) betray the publication date of the book, 1987.
But the content is timeless. Good, clear explanations of everything that's needed to make furniture. A superb complement to the Collin's guide.

Great furniture reference book
The best attributes about this book are the diagrams/pictures of furniture making techniques. With +/- 514 pages of reference information, you certinally get your $ worth. Read more
