Really, really awesome. If you like or love Pearl Jam, you NEED to read this.

Cards on the table - I am a massive Pearl Jam fan. I bought this book because being UK based, I get to see this band all too rarely and have dreamed about the idea of multiple shows, so to hear about some guys doing a whole tour seemed like great fun.
I didn't know much more than that basic premise, but as I got into the book, realised it was more than just fans in a van and a band they loved. It's an international adventure and human story, with these young guys discovering just how friendly the world is when you approach it the right way.
Starting across Canada, the book does represent a real road trip, which as everyone knows, is kinda awkward and a bit stilted. But after a few stops and seat swaps, you settle right in. After a slow start, the book does too, finding a real rhythmn as the guys discover the real family that is the Pearl Jam support around the world, and start having some real fun.
Things really kick in across the US, which is definitely the best section of the book. While Europe and Oz are fun and different, it's the life in the van that really makes this story.
Get some PJ tunes on while you watch it, and don't miss the Touring Van website for videos and stories of the endless characters you encounter throughout Jason Leung's adventures, because it's such a great tale you will be wanting to know what happened next.
An absolutely unmissable treat for anyone who loves Pearl Jam, or even if you have ever loved any band so much you wanted to follow them around the world. The author did just that, and does an incredible job taking us with him. Brilliant stuff.
