Baroque Music is my favourite style and style is just what this disc has. Arcangelo have an authentic texture as well as beautiful sound. Their accompaniments are full of rhymic excitement and soulful playing. Anna Prohaska is one of those sopranos, though light in voice, is rich in colour and passion. Many listeners prefer a straight-voice in this period of music but if you read about composers of the 17th and 18th centuries, they preferred a sound full of emotion and some vibrato. The coloratura is executed with ease and a roundness rarely heard in these pieces. A totally satisfying disc.
