It works!,

I do not describe myself as a tech-geek in any shape or form but I got this to work and I now have Sky Plus in my bedroom.
My learning points on installation, that are not necessarily clear from the instructions were: 1. The scart lead goes into the Sky Plus box, not the downstairs TV (Doh!) 2. The two scart leads appear identical - but they are not! Swap them if you get no transmission first time round. Picture is 98% clarity with minor (and I mean minor ) shadowing on text and sound is great. With hindsight I can see that the instructions really make a meal of what is a very simple procedure.

Works Great, (potential troubleshooting fix for no signal),

First of all I purchased this based on reviews and reviews for other similar devices, seemed to be the best choice.
I have to say I have had similar problems as the other 1* reviews, could not get the unit to work at all, no signal whatsoever... I kept tinkering around 1 hour or more. The manual is a little vague so I put the devices in the same room just to make sure it worked. This is what I did to get it to work (make sure you look under each unit which one is tagged as Transmitter and which one is Receiver). All OFF including the device(sky/player/box). Connected everything up (Transmitter to your device, Receiver to 2nd TV), still everything OFF. Switched ON Transmitter, switched ON device(sky/player/box), switched ON receiver. Everything works fine. When I had everything ON from start it did not work, no idea why but as an IT techie I though hold on lets do it step by step one device at a time. If your device only has 1 SCART port (of course it will only work on 1 TV at a time)... so get a SCART splitter or check if your device might have the yellow/white/red ports at the back that way you can use it on 1 TV and connect it to transmitter. Also make sure you try the SCART cable around if it doesn't as apparently one is for the transmitter and one for receiver but they don't have any labels to let you know which is which. Tested but not extensive(sound/video great), I actually used the IR extension and stuck it to the front of my device and remote works great (took a bit of trial and error to get it spot on as I could not tell where my device had the IR sensor). As I did not test it for a huge amount of time, no idea if video/sound is intermittent while in use but from what I experienced it worked flawlessly. Transmitter is downstairs pretty much right under the other room, double under floor insulation (the foil one and green foam one) under laminating flooring. The setup is quite simple, transmitter is on the floor with nothing else in the way or around it (wireless phones, speakers, wireless modem), I tried to avoid any interference. Upstairs the receiver is on the floor under the TV unit table so again nothing around. Hope other people find this more detailed review of help. Besides the fact that it works just fine (video/sound/remote) and it does the job I got nothing else to say. 5* because it does what it is supposed to do.

I bought this having failed to get any kind of picture from an indoor aerial in the bedroom. I took a bit of a risk on this model as it had no reviews but was the updated (and cheaper) model of the 698B that's the best selling one on Amazon.
It's really easy to set up and comes with everything you need. Be careful to connect the correct scart to the receiver/transmitter or you'll not get any picture/sound - this is not specifically mentioned in the instructions and caught me out. The picture to my bedroom TV from a Sky+ box is very good but not perfect - there's a little bit of shadowing, particularly on text but it is not a major concern. There is a little interference when walking between the IR sensors which may be a problem if using in kitchen, but for a bedroom it's OK (other than that it would have 5 stars). I've not had any interference from my wifi network. The boxes themselves are about 5 inches square and 4 inches high so not too intrusive. There is a very discrete remote extender that you put in front of the sky box to allow the sky remote to be used from the bedroom. Overall really pleased with the product, particularly good to be able to watch recorded programmes in bed! Well worth the money compared to Sky multiroom
