New found information regarding the origins of Reiki can be found in works published over the last few years. That aside, I have to say this book touched my soul. Every book seems to carry the essence of the author with it, and Paulas intention when introducing us to the loving energy of Reiki, is clear on every page. Thank you.

If you are new to Reiki and looking for a good all-round book to bring you up to speed, then you'll want to pick up a copy of Empowerment through Reiki. This is probably the most complete yet easy to comprehend resource that I've seen. Many of the beginner or general books on Reiki try to make the process seem much more difficult or complex than it is. This leaves the reader intimidated and confused. This is probably the reason that many people take a first course with gusto and then forget the whole experience.
Empowerment through Reiki goes through all the basics of Reiki: the history, the precepts, the way Reiki works, what is taught at each Reiki level, and how Reiki can be used in everyday life. This book also goes into some detail about somewhat advanced techniques that can be used to make Reiki more effective and how Reiki can be used in conjunction with other forms of healing.

Paula Horan's book is written in such a manner it not only keeps your interest but also explains the origin of Reiki, what Reiki is and many ways one can use it. I use Paula's book as one of my reference books during lectures and class work.

This book is much better than "The Complete Reiki Handbook" Walter Lubeck, and "Abundance Through Reiki" by Paula Horan. Read more
