If you find that you don't have much time for gaming, for building up characters in 30+ hour epic Triple-A games with weaving narratives and lengthy exposition, then you're probably the sort of person who'll find something to your liking in this fantastic collection.
Before starting (and this is aimed at the more discerning player), let's me say, I never played these games at the time in the Arcades so have nothing to compare them to, but as far as I can tell they play, control, and look great and I have no reason to believe they are not faithful ports.
With that said and done, there are 39 games on this collection of which you should find something to your liking. I can't mention them all but will say that there's a good blend of puzzle, beat em up, and shoot em ups (overhead and side-facing) to make this collection fairly comprehensive. True, there are some genres unrepresented or under-represented such as fighting games and sports games, but that shouldn't deter you.
I can personally recommend Puzzle Bobble (a pass-the-controller-round, winner-stays-on sort of game that is just perfect for gatherings), Growl (an over-the-top beat em up where you rescue animals using extreme force), Arabian Magic (another solid beat em up with a contextual differentiator and nice effects), and Crazy Balloon - but there are others that are playable, if not good, also.
This is a great collection of quick-hit, fun arcade titles of which something should delight. The collection is particularly good value now that it's been out a while. There aren't many reasons against having this in your collection. The games are all of a decent standard, and the stand-out titles are mesmeric and will have you playing for more than a wet afternoon in.
