Following the plot of Star Trek: Insurrection, you have been ordered to command Captain Picard's shuttle to the Ba'ku planet. On Ba'ku you find a peaceful colony who have discovered the fountain of youth. Romulan forces seek to enslave the inhabitants of Ba'ku and it is up to you save the natives. This game features story-driven missions filled with combat, exploration, and intelligence any fan would enjoy.

Fun:
Played on windows vista64. Run as Admin. Compatibility Windows 98/ME. Run in 640x480 screen resolution.
To get this working on vista is not straight forward as its an old game, so do the following to actually get it installed....
First of all, auto run will not install it, and will pop up with an error box, saying your system isnt compatible with your windows version. So ignore that, and then do this.
Click "Start" button -> select "computer" -> right click the game CD location(with disk in drive) -> select "Open" -> select "setup" -> double left click "setup" 32 bit setup launcher(this WILL install the game this way). Upon installation, you need to also install the "Quick Time 4.0" software when prompted, or the game wont work properly.
Ok, now its working, time for the bad news ;0)
Star Trek:Hidden Evil overall is a pretty average game, and very easy to be honest. The graphics are very basic, but not the worst i have seen.
It is only a few steps away from being a 3rd person point and click adventure game. The thing that sets it aside from that, is that you get combat in here too, in the shape of a phaser pistol. You can also perform the Vulcan nerve pinch by sneaking upto enemies from behind if you wish.
Basic commands(comes with no manual)
WASD = movement
TAB = inventory
Spacebar = interact/use/fire weapon
Shift = run
Number/arrow keys = inventory selection
Enter = select inventory item
Personaly I would only reccomend buying it if you love the Star Trek series, or you want a nice quick game to keep you occupied for a day or two. Its not a 'really' bad game, its just not that great either.

Although I had seen Hidden Evil advertised quite extensively, I had very little knowledge about the game before I bought it. My only salvation was that it came in a pack of 4 games, including the infinitely superior Elite Force & Armada.
Set just after the events in Star Trek Insurrection, the game concerns the antics of a young Starfleet ensign, Sovok. Sovok is stationed on a Starfleet space station located in the Briar Patch, however, his duties aboard the station are apparently quite mind numbing (rather like the game itself) and he longs for the chance of some excitement. Well, low and behold, salvation comes in the form of Cpt Picard, who the ensign is ordered to escort down to the Ba'ku planet. This is where the so-called 'excitement' begins, with with the storyline (ahem!) involving confrontations with Romulans, the Son'a and something that resembles a killer bee - all of whom are after the destructive power of a genetic seed (how original!).
I really can't be bothered to go into details, however, suffice it to say that the game is distinctly one dimensional, far too easy (I completed it in a day)and highly frustrating. Its only saving grace being that the graphics and sound are quite impressive, although this by no means goes to compensate for the lack of gameplay.
Although Insurrection wasn't exactly the best of the ST films, even it didn't deserve such a lame excuse for a rip-off. Now, if you really want to waste your money, go and see Nemesis!
