Bad Boys II is a full-on all-action first/third person shooter with you playing both characters depending on where you are in the plot. Mike is the hard man who you will control whenever something is going down that needs a gun to do the talking. Marcus will jump into play when things need to be a bit subtler and stealth is required to move the investigation forward.

I approached this game with a bit of aprehension but eventually got it and started playing... The first thing i noticed was how 'clean' the game looks, it appears to look 'higher res' than most PS2 games despite the relatively poor character models that 'sit' against the rather nice backgrounds.
Graphics out the way then.. Did i mention that nearly everything can be destroyed which can result in some truly 'right in the action' moments as bottles explode around you and glass shatters to the floor.
The sound is this games major down-fall, whoever's doing Will Smith is a bad sound-a-like but you can tell it's supposed to be him... Whoever does Martin Lawrence should just give up their voice over job now as he truly is terrible.. :) I didn't really experience the games music there appears to be some in the background but it gets drowned out over the incessent gun-fire and Martin and Wills chat as you go about your business (which at times can be very funny - for all the wrong reasons!).
So how does it play? Well if you're after a great 3rd/1st person shooter then don't bother, if you just wanna pick up the pad and play for a bit of mild entertainment then Bad Boys is your game, despite the games flaws after a few levels you start to get into it and are diving for cover and then popping out to put well placed bullets in the bad-guys secretly hoping that Martin would stop trying to interject with stupid one-liners. There's a good range of guns/weapons to pick up and everything sounds very nice fire-arm wise.. Except the ML has a better sounding gun than WS! One thing i did like was that things generate randomly, so at one point you have to find a gas mask within 60 seconds... And if you die/fail then when you restart the stage you really do have to find it again as it's moved!
The main bad point with the gameplay is that when you do die (no matter how far you are into the stage) you have to restart it from the beginning which is very annoying!
So all in all a reasonably good game if you're looking for something to just pick up and play.

First things first. Graphically this is no FFX / FFX-2. The graphics would be good if it were a PS 1 title. There is a slight resemblance of the characters to Martin Lawrence / Will Smith but that is where it ends. The voice acting is okay but often cheesy one liners make you cringe. The controls are alright but the first person mode is a bit useless as ducking behind cover and then aiming (in the first person) means you usually get shot to shreads. The game itself is short - 6 hours to complete and limited replay value. Why did it get 3 stars? Because despite the poor graphics and annoying sound it is actually quite a fun game to play. There is something to be said about kicking a door in, diving for cover and firing on enemies and watching the whole place get wrecked. The environments are destructable and you get a bad boy rating depending on how little damage was caused, disarms, executions etc. Not worth the £29 price tag but worth while to buy when the price goes down.

This game has a lot to offer the gamers who like titles such as, the getaway,terminator and the GTA series.Having recently viewed a clip of this game it looks to be much like the movies in the sense that you can play the game and watch scenes cut from the film to really make you feel like your playing the movie.Overall i feel this is a brilliant game but is quite similar to other titles
