Chris Taylor's most recent book, 'Empathic Care for Children with Disorganised Attachments' is a must have for anyone with a passion for care work with children. Its refreshing ability to see beyond the difficulties children looked after often present with, to the possibilities ahead makes this book an essential read. Packed full of information about attachment, working with attachment and understanding what children need to recover from trauma, this book provides something for everyone who want to make a difference in children's lives. It is easy to read (no heavy jargon here!), explains concepts simply and straightforwardly, and presents information in a very human way that speaks volumes about children 'trying thier best' against difficult odds. What I most enjoyed about this book was that it gave a really good insight into the world of caring for children with all its complexities and challenges. it brings theory and practice together in a way that is easy to follow. Well worth a read.
