Ms. Orme has done a very nice job taking the sometimes confusing and often times complex world of Emotional Intelligence and making it accessible to the layperson and adding clarity for the professional. I especially appreciated the historical chronology of events in the development of what we currently know as EQ including the different schools of thought and key players. I recommend it to anyone interested in better understanding Emotional Intelligence.

Emotionally Intelligent Living finally makes EI accessible to everyone. I would recommend this book to everyone interested in living a more fulfilled life and achieving personal effectiveness.

Those with no knowledge of EI and those with broad range of knowledge all stand to learn something from Ms. Orme's words. Based on my knowledge of the literature about EI available, I would suggest that even the most experienced practitioners would find this a useful resource to add to their library.

The book introduces EI, the main schools of measurement and then provides wonderful stories and practical exercises for developing EI in our everyday lives. The layout is very readable and hand drawn illustrations provide the book with a warm feel. The resource lists in the back, including 'feeling' words and lists of EI practitioners around the world are really great!

Having read Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman, the need for EI training and curriculum for teachers and students is clear. I applaud Ms. Orme for her generosity in donating proceeds from the book to work in schools and other voluntary sectors.

This is a most unsual book because it combines hard fact and scientific evdidence with truly inspirational confessions and personal anecdotes. It is a pleasure to read and very easy to dip in and out of. Emotional Intellgience has become a bit of a buzz word, almost a cliche and yet this book tells us what it is really about and why knowing about EI is of practical value on a day to day basis. And yet it is almost a business text book or a "self-help" book, or an auto-biography. I was very moved by it and I learned from it.
