Book Description

1 Nov 2007

In Emotional Healing, world-renowned alternative-health expert Jan de Vries turns his attention to the myriad of mental and emotional conditions that he has seen increase amongst his patients in recent years.

This important new addition to the Jan de Vries Healthcare series offers practical advice on how to cope with the emotional effects of unhappy relationships and broken marriages, suggests ways of eradicating depression and suicidal thoughts, reveals how to combat feelings of resentment and jealousy, and advises on how to avoid the health pitfalls linked to modern working life, such as stress and anxiety.

The book pinpoints effective ways in which to overcome feelings of guilt and trauma that arise from unfortunate situations such as road accidents. It also explores the wealth of complex emotions related to degenerative diseases, such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy, and offers helpful tips on how to cope at such times.

Emotional Healing is an essential handbook for those of us who are emotionally and mentally affected by the many pressures of life in the twenty-first century. It will lift spirits and bring some positivity back into the lives of those who may have started to give up hope.

5.0 out of 5 stars How emotions block real healing 7 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
How emotions block real healing. With the amount of new therapies coming to my attention daily, I must say that I found this book refreshing, kind and based on reality. Dr Jan de Vries operates from the concept of 'two feet firmly on the ground', nothing wishy washy about his approach. A lovely read.

I have just completed reading this book and my overall opinion is that it is a gem of a book. Once I started reading it I just could not put it down. The book contains examples and suggestions on how to deal with all our human emotions. This book would definitely be a valued asset on the bookshelf of every family home. It is an easy, comforting and informative read and I would highly recommend it.

Illness is just an imbalance of mind over body. If you believe in yourself then you have a greater chance to stay healthy.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a load of rubbish 24 May 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book was excellent. If you fancy a laugh. I read it aloud to my boyfriend and it left us in fits of giggles. Not only is it really badly written (it sounds like a 7 year old's written it) it is also full of rubbish. Homeopathic remedies (which cannot possibly work and there is no evidence to say otherwise) and 'remedies' such as buttercup to 'dissolve bad memories'. Um....I'm no scientist but I somehow don't think that buttercup is able to dissolve parts of the memory and if it is, this is dangerous! I suppose that's the point though, this book isn't for scientists, it's for gullible, vulnerable people who are willing to believe anything. I admit I probably shouldn't have purchased the book, as a sceptic that doesn't beleive in angels or horoscopes or cystals...I was hoping it would teach more relaxation techniques, breathing excercises, massage etc rather than tell me that 3 drops of 'bark' in a little water will solve all my problems. I have given it to charity, I felt a little mean as it is unfair on the poor soul who buys it but at least it can make a bit for charity!
