Wow! 29 Nov 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I bought this album on impulse from amazon a while ago..and it has come to be one of my favourites!
If you compare this album with "Understand this is a dream" which is also extremely good, you can definitely feel the musical progression. They are more confidently diverse and experiment with a wider palate of sounds.
For example, this album effortlessly switches from downright, beautifully melodic emo in "Don't push love away" and "Into the dark" to menacing, slightly punkier sounds in "To the tune of 5,000 screaming children". They are also able to display a pop-punk element with "Understand the dream is over". Alongside these and others, there are also two hauntingly beautiful instrumental tracks which are a clever juxtaposition of beats and piano..which work very well and really stir your emotions..which I feel is the sole task of this album.
Looks like emotion isn't dead, as it's being churned out by the bucketload by these guys! Excellent album, buy it if you enjoy quality music.

Don't Stop 17 Jan 2006
Format:Audio CD
This album is the Bees' Knees. It truly is, a nice mix of pop and emo sounds to produce a delightful album. It's amazing to think how far the band have grown since this record, and indeed their first. Being an owner of them all you can see the difference clearly. This albums kicks off with Into the Dark, a great song which has a whole extra dimension when seen live, as a lot of the songs do. If you haven't seen them I recommend that you do!

The two Instramental tracks 'Emotion is Dead Pts 1 and 2' are nice extras to this album. Especially Part 2, i don't know why it just has something about it creating an alluring electro sound that always gets me coming back for more. Technically not an instrumental as it has one line of spoken lyrics right at the end linking with the previous track.

This really is one of Tooth and Nails finest productions let alone The Juliana Theory's. In my opinion their joint best album with their latest, Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat [With DVD].

This music can appeal to many as lots of the track have both pop and rock influences, some lean in one way, e.g On Top of The World is a majorly pop track and If I Tiold You This Was Killing Me Would You Stop? is more influenced by rock. There is not a bad track on the album. If you've read this and decided to ignore thats OK, but you'll really miss out. TJT are brilliant.

This is such a great summer cd, filled with songs that will stick in your head, have you humming along and bus stops an remind you of these times forever. From the very begining to the very end this is a classic album without a bad track on it. highlight is definitly 'don't push love away'.
