Betty Eagleton is cleaning houses in the village, as well as helping out at the tea-room, which is a good platform for her gossip-telling. Jovialic pub-owner Alan Turner, half-fraud antique specialist Eric Pollard, outcast pig-farmer Dingle family, postoffice manager Windsors, and a lot of other characters give the story quite a variation. A must for all fans of the soap when it really was worth watching! Yes, the early episodes are a little slow compared with today's slick programming presentation and some of the the acting a little wooden, but all this adds to the charm of Emmerdale Farm. I got so hooked on it whilst at teacher training college in the 70's that when key episodes clashed with lectures (it had a lunch time slot then) I got my parents to tape the sound (no video recorders then)!! So I am watching some of these early episodes for the first time and enjoying getting hooked all over again. Can't wait for Volume 3 to be released.

I love network dvd for continuing to release these episodes on dvd. after the loss of sky soap the great channel that once graced our screens via sky tv we have them finally realesed on dvd via network dvd. These episodes is from the 80s as we all know is when emmerdale farm really took off. I find these episodes or indeed the early epiosdes very realaxing the farm like is so great in these episodes and the countryside around the sugdens farm as used in the show then was very beautifull. i cant wait till the ralease date now. thanks for the realease.
