Book Description

4 Oct 2010
What happens when a young girl is awakened in the night by loud, scary noises? If she's Emily, Brave and Swift, the daughter of Sir Guy, she gathers her sword, leaps from her over-sized bed and tracks down the beast that has invaded her cozy castle. Children will love this rhyming tale about a daring young girl: the daughter of a knight who is always away battling or jousting or slaying dragons somewhere and an absent-minded mother busy with arranging social gatherings, teas and luncheons for the Ladies. Emily, Brave and Swift blends together 15th century medieval times, some really gross trolls with a rather revolting appetite for...? and a little present day technology that result in a humorous collision of events. What's in store for Emily? Adventure, a few scary surprises and who would have thought...a very happy ending!

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming rhymes and vibrant colors 10 Oct 2010
By Melva Henderson - Published on Amazon.com
Janice Reynold's vivid artwork and story is bound to appeal to children everywhere. She manages to tell a story in rhyme that is not only entertaining, but is seasoned with her bright paintings that bring the story to life and is certain to entrance, and hold a child's interest to the end. In this digital age of video games and computers, it is a pleasure to see reading material for the youngsters that will hold their interest and encourage them to turn the next page. I foresee that this story is one of those that will undeniably encourage children to pick up yet another one of Janice Reynold's delightful books.
