From the Back Cover

Emil and the three twins? Three? Twins? Yes, you read that correctly. It's another of Emil Tischbein's peculiar adventures this time by the sea.

Of course, the detectives couldn't have an ordinary seaside holiday, and when they become entangled with the mystery of the three acrobat twins and the wicked Herr Anders, it looks as if it's going to turn into a most extraordinary time for them all!

4.0 out of 5 stars A classic adventure story 1 July 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I read Emil and the Detectives when I was a child and am delighted to have discovered this one now that I am reading them with my son. It has all the ingredients of a classic adventure story - no adults around to hamper the adventure, intrepid children and a baddie who will no doubt get his comeuppance by the end of the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT BOOK 19 Jun 2013

I read the Emil books in German as a child learning the language and loved them. Good to see them back in print. Kästner had the knack of getting into a child's head and writing as a child thinks.

Love Erich Kastner's Emil books -- suitable for children with old heads on young shoulders, or adults with old shoulders and young heads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 25 Aug 2008
This is a great little read, just as good as the first book, with a funy yet morally serious story line. I'm sure it reads just as well in its original Deutsch.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good bedtime read 4 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This was bought as a follow-up to Emil and the Detectives. Although we preferred the first book, this was a fun story at bedtime for my 5 year old son, with the book neatly divided into a chapter a night.
