Like all my fellow reviewers, I am a big R+ fan and was really interested in listening to Richard Kruspe's solo album. Had I not been a R+ fan, in all honesty, I probably would not have brought it.
The album has essences of R+ with heavy riffs and a strong drum beat. However, that is where the similarities end. This album stands alone without being an 'off-shoot' of R+. It is energetic, original with a 'Rob Zombie-ish' quality.
Mr Kruspe was always, in my opinion, the least appealing of the R+ crew. However, this album has dramatically changed my mind. This album is not R+ and does not pretend to be. It is something new and emphasises his talent as a creative musician.
Should you purchase it? If you are looking for a new R+ album, no. If you want an imaginative, strong and different sound, absolutely; yes.
Worth the money? A resounding yes.

When i first heard that Richard had a side project i thought "uh oh" but this is really very good. He gets bored during breaks from Rammstein and Emigrate keeps him busy.
Its a LOT different to what he does in Rammstein, this is very user friendly and its interesting to hear him sing in english. He has a great voice!!
I really love the songs Temptation, My World and New York City. They songs are very catchy and show off Richard's guitar and writing skills!

This is not Rammstein, not even close. This is Richard's side project in which you get to understand him a little more. You can certainly get the idea of his guitar style and his voice. It did take a few listens before I could say I liked it but now I love it. There are a couple of cringe moments over the lyrics but that's forgiveable as his English is a million times better than my German. There are a couple of moments when I think I'm listening to Babylon Zoo (which is disturbing!) but don't let that put you off. Some epic tunes that stick in your head and you find humming. Worth a punt if you like the lighter side of Rammstein.

Emigrate is a good CD to listen to, perhaps more on random than anything, for a rammstein fan it will be extremely enjoyable, but independently the album is very basic, its nothing new, but its still fun with some extremely good songs such as "New York City" and the Title Track "Emigrate", there is a nice range of songs as well, spans from an industrial metal song such as "My World" to "In My Tears" then down into "Babe", all in all a good album, but nothing really new.

It took me a while to decide to buy this album but well pleased with it now I have got my hands on a copy and have played it a few times.
Best described as the Rammstein approach to music but with English. lyrics and slightly less power and aggression.
I play it end to end as there are no weak tracks so a worthy effort and only gets 4 stars because the whole of Rammstein will always be even better!

This is a strong effort from Rammstein's guitarist Kruspe - it's safe to say if you're a fan of Rammstein you'll enjoy this, although it's nowhere near as bombastic as the group and a different feel. Richard sings in English with a great voice, some lovely emotional lyrics, and a great mix of songs.

Temptation is the best on the album in my opinion and should be on every rock dance floor! No weak songs on the album, I really hope he does another album with Emigrate and decides to tour!

I am a die-hard Rammstein fan (also with the tattoo and all their stuff), so of course I preordered this album and waited in breathless anticipation.
The first time I listened through it, I must admit I was disappointed. It was way too much of a "pop" album for my tastes. However, this is the kind of album that sort of grows on you. After listening to it a few more times, I found it a lot better.
Richard's voice sounds quite different than when he contributes vocally to a Rammstein song, but it is nice.
Some of the songs are quite good, such as "Wake up", "My world", "Blood" and "Let me Break". But if you buy this album, be prepared for a few not so good songs, such as "Babe", "Temptaion" and "Resolution". I was actually a little embarrassed by them.
The song "In my tears" sounds very similar to the Rammstein song "Stein um Stein"...
The lyrics of the album seem very personal and some are charming. But I doubt I'd have enjoyed this as much if I didn't already love Richard Kruspe.
Conclusion; good enough and definitely a must for fans of Herr Kruspe.
