Product Description

The pioneering emergency ultrasound guide--updated and expanded with coverage of the newest technologies

Praise for the first edition:--"The book is intended for emergency physicians, but any practicing physician who uses ultrasound for the assessment of patients could clearly benefit from this book....This book is certainly unique in that it provides a clinically relevant approach to such a rapidly growing field. Each chapter's objective is met while not inundating the reader with unnecessary technical details. Although simply reading the book is not sufficient for expertise, the material provides a solid foundation in understanding the subject. 5 STARS!"--Doody's Review Service

I was not residency trained in Ultrasound but took the necessary courses to learn this skill. Once comfortable with the technology this book provides a well written resource to easily expand additional skills and knowledge. Topics are well written and cover everything currently being referenced in the realm of emergency ultrasound. The added DVD was an unexpected treat.
the ultrasound book to have if you are a resident! 1 Dec 2010

Required for my training. Ha! Just what I wanted, another book I had to have and then never have it leave my shelf. Not true! It has become a very important part of my Emergency Medicine Training. The format is simple to understand, the flow is smooth and the clarity of the pictures really give you something to go by. Written in a way you can appreciate its basic nature and yet, there is something to learn each time you review a chapter. The DVD has great pictures and video to show you what they exam is looking for and that can make all the difference. I love it and so do my co-workers, they seem to use it as much as I do.
