Product Description

Real life medical drama is OK… but true stories of emergency medicine that make you laugh out loud are better!

Mike Cyra's comedic storytelling style of writing is hilarious! Emergency Laughter is a collection of real-life, adrenaline-fueled, near-death experiences at the hands of old women who spit food, vomiting children, a morgue refrigerator and out of control ambulances.

Learn how to drive an emergency vehicle through traffic, fake unconsciousness, the wrong way to deliver a baby, the best way to chop all your fingers off, the Hiney-Lick Maneuver, why stupid people blame doctors for everything and how to really make sure a person is dead.

Laughter helps the mind, heals the body and is a critical survival tool for all who deal with death, dying and disaster up close. Emergency Laughter shows that it’s OK to laugh at yourself.

Mike Cyra spent twenty-years working as an EMT, a Chief Medical Officer on a ship in Alaska’s Bering Sea, a Surgical Technologist and an Instructor of Maritime Emergency Medicine. His humor has appeared in The Placebo Journal, Our USA Magazine, Parenting Humor.

Emergency Laughter will stay with the reader long after it’s put down.

a descriptively written book that made me laugh out loud so many times. i had to keep stopping to read it out to the bloke because he wanted to know what was so funny. if you want to know how not to get stuck in the dark in a rather large fridge, how to manage troublesome vines and how to handle old lady drivers (something we've all secretly thought about) then read this!!!

One of the first ebooks I read on my brand new kindle! Great choice on my part.
Funny, warm informative, a good read. One of those "un put down able" books.
Whether you are "in the trade" like me, or just like reading real life books, I can really recommend you have a read. It will make you chuckle out loud!

One of the worst in this genre
Let's face it, there are plenty of books available, particularly on Kindle, containing tales from paramedics. Some of them are pretty good; this one definitely isn't. Read more

Too short for the money & not very funny.
I didn't like the book. It is very short and while some of the stories might be entertaining with better handling, it seemed to be a disjointed collection of rambling anecdotes. Read more

Must Be Me
I bought this book on the strength of other reviews. Well it is funny in places, but there is no storyline. Just a colection of a few humorous stories, that will raise a smile. Read more
