You notice from the first page that the author knows what he's writing about. You sense his experience and he explains what a plane can endure and what not. He's telling about things pilots do that most normal travellers don't know. Stanley Stewart is speaking normal language in this book and he has hit the point sharp. Pilots shouldn't need this book; they should know, and that is what the author has met so superbly: it's an easy understandable book for everybody, yet written in a literarily high standard. Stanley Stewart is very good PR material for his airline because if they train and employ pilots like him, they lay confidence in people.

This book is really interesting and it is not over complicated with detail that would confuse even a hardened aircraft engineer.
Saying that, it does not simplify things either, it is a nice middle ground book that paints a vivid and precise build up to an aircraft incident.
I would especially recommend this book to nervous flyers....no really! as the author really shows us that in an emergency situation these pilots are well trained and capable in landing these aircraft safely (most of the time!)

Thanks for writing. Many of the scenarios are well known and have been documented on tv but they benefit greatly from the lack of superfluous music and effects and the inclusion of short and factual, information.
Good read.
Thanks author.
