U2 fans beware! 25 Aug 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Watch out if you are buying this CD because you are a U2 fan. The CD only has one U2 song --a techno remix of Mysterious Ways. Other than that, I found the CD dissappointing. The only other track I was familiar with was "Zombie" by the Cranberries. 98% of the CD is tracks by obscure Irish bands that range from boring to cute but not worth buying the CD for. It's not even as if U2 has submitted fresh material for this one. Unless you are looking for a sample of Irish rock culture, this CD is probably not for you.

Good for Irish music fans 22 Sep 2000
By Amy Battis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I must write to let people know that contrary to what a previous reviewer wrote, this is an excellent collection of contemporary Irish bands. I am sorry for the person who does not know of The Frames, Black 47, Shane McGowan, Ash, Therapy, The Boomtown Rats or The Waterboys. I think all of them are well worth the listen, and this is a nice collection of some of their more interesting songs. All of these songs appear on the artists' own albums, this is just a "Various Artists" collection, so it is unreasonable to think that this is all "new" material.

Don't just buy something for U2, for goodness' sake! Expose yourself to something good and new!

Great bands Yanks have never heard of. 19 Sep 2000
By Dr Richard Holland - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Unlike the other people who reviewed this CD I have heard of most of the bands included. If you were fooled into buying it just because you thought it had a new U2 song on it..thank you for playing anyway. However, you are lucky enough to be introduced to music from a country where styles of music other than Rap, heavy metal and neo-punk are frequently played on the radio and thus each band sounds different. You will be introduced to the likes of Therapy and Ash, two well known bands on the more tasteful side of the pond, and you will get a copy of the Boomtown rats "don't like mondays", unbelievable! Stop whining and appreciate good music.
