Product Description

Product Description

Beautifully illustrated with inspiring photography, specially photographed, this step-by-step embroidery book provides the creative ideas and know-how to create stylish items for babies and children. The 20 projects range from items made from scratch to decorating store-bought items; all are strong, stylish, and contemporary designs. The projects range from gift items to treasure or things for everyday - such as beach bags, dollas, cot blankets, and quilts. Some projects can be completed within a day or two - perfect for the novice - others are longer and more complex. Templates and patterns are included throughout as well as information on stitches and basic techniques. Claire Garland's straight forward and accessible style will inspire anyone to pick up a needle and thread and get stitching! All her projects have been tried and tested on her own young brood who star in the photographs

About the Author

This review is from: Embroidered Treasures: 22 Projects to Stitch for Babies and Children (Mitchell Beazley Craft) (Paperback)
Although I'm a knitter, this book has inspired me to start embroidering and sewing. There are some really lovely patterns and I've already started work on a couple of toys. The instructions are very clear and and the materials are easy to find - most of the toys can be made from an old sheet or pillow case and in the case of the whale, old jeans. I highly recommend this book.
