Product Description

Are you overwhelmed with emails at work? Are you losing sleep because of an overflowing inbox? Are you embarrassed at always saying, “I forgot to deal with that issue.”? Do you want to process all of your emails smartly and see your productivity go through the roof?
Do you want to leave work at the end of each day with an empty inbox? If so, if you really want to strive to keep your emails under control, then you need to read this book. As a manager of large-scale projects for a couple of decades, I developed, out of necessity, a systematic method of processing emails efficiently and effectively. This approach usually resulted in an empty inbox by the end of the working day. During this time, I became aware that email processing was more of an art, not necessarily mastered by all. I’ve written this book with the aim of moving people’s way of thinking away from the realms of artistic endeavor and more towards technical application. From my many years of experience, I knew what processes I needed to capture in this book for you to achieve zero emails in your inbox, but what I hadn’t attempted previously was to develop a flowchart to see if I had an all-inclusive model. While sitting in my local pub, with glass of wine in one hand and a pencil in the other, I set about drawing process rectangles and arrows. In its completed form, the flowchart seems very simple and straightforward, but it took an hour of moving flow lines around to portray the clean model that it became. I can’t convey the thrill when I eventually saw this simplicity in all of its grandeur. I knew that I had visually captured THE method to achieve zero emails. During the course of this book, I’ll describe the STRAF (Suspend, Trash, Refer, Act, File) methodology that you need to embrace in order to control your inbox. As a bit of light-hearted reading, but at the same time reinforcing the STRAF method, you’ll read how Thomas Jefferson would have applied my principles had email existed back in the 18th century. Once you have internalized the STRAF principles, you’ll have the methods necessary to routinely track emails through to their natural and complete conclusion and will be regarded as an on-the-ball email processor! Actually, you’ll be seen as much more than that. You’ll be regarded as someone who can always be trusted and relied upon to get things done on time or even earlier. In a world of information overload, this will put you head and shoulders above the majority and will always lead to greater recognition. Grasp the STRAF principles and you’ll be unbeatable.

More About the Author

Wayne DuBose (b. 1955) has the rare distinction of being one of the few half Eastender/half Cheyenne Indians in the world. Born in Tacoma Park, Maryland, Wayne split his childhood years between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and London, England. After almost 5 years working at the Bank of America in London, 20 years in the United States Air Force, and 7 years as a contractor working for the US Navy in London, Wayne published his first book, "The After Dinner Quiz Book." This book came about as a result of Wayne keeping a record of his quiz questions (discarding the ones that didn't work) in his role as a quizmaster for over half a decade. His next publication, "Email Overload - The 5 Step Method To Managing Your Inbox", is now available.
