Don't be put off by the negative things you've probably heard about Elvis' movies - the music on these two discs is mostly excellent, containing the best songs from Elvis' entire film career.
Disc 1 covers 1956-1964 and is full of famous songs - Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Viva las Vegas, Can't Help Falling in Love With You, Return to Sender.
For me, the real revelation was disc 2, which gave me 20 new tracks, about half of which have already become favourites. It was a pleasant surprise to hear the number of R&B type songs Elvis recorded, and how many of the songs are unusual or innovative.
"A Little Less Conversation" is probably the first rap song (in 1968!). "Rubberneckin'" is hot and still sounds new today. "The Love Machine", "All That I Am", "Little Egypt" and "Do the Clam" are all superb. And there's a sizzling cover of the Ray Charles song "What'd I Say".
Buy and be surprised like I was just how wide Elvis' musical range was.
