5.0 out of 5 stars So That's How It All Began! 20 May 2002
By A Customer
Format:DVD
Here's a treat! This fabulous DVD takes a look at how Elvis made his historic first album.

Elvis Presley, as it was known, is the definitive rock n roll record; and still almost 50 years probably; no, definately one of the 10 best albums ever made.

This great DVD has some superb footage from 1956; the year of this album. Plus great interviews with the likes of BB King and Keith Richards, who really shines here.

There are some bonus interviews and insight here also; although this may not appeal to the casual observer; any real music fan will be engrossed.

I didn't expected much but it was a really pleasant surprise!
This dvd tells us the story about making some of the greatest Rock and Roll music ever made! This is different approach in Elvis documentary's.
You'll hear story's from Sam Phillips, Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana,
B.B.King, to name a few, even see Kith Richards complaining how he still can't get it right when trying to play like Scotty. You'll see some rare tv clips here but not complete and hear some pretty smart comments about his music, for a change.
This dvd even has a great special features section.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just when you thought you had seen it all 16 Feb 2002
Format:DVD
After 40 years of seeing, hearing and enjoying Elvis I though there was little new left to see and hear that was worthwhile.
I was delighted to be proved wrong. This is a DVD not just for the Elvis fan but for all who are interested in the development of popular music.
Recent musicians and their fans would do well to take in the primitive conditions in recording studios and the lengths musicians went to to gain a particular effect; talent was of the essence and it had to show through the voice and the production.
A fascinating trip back; it may seem like a lifetime to some, but in the measure of things 45 years is very slight.
Watch, listen reflect and enjoy.
