Elvis Belt was always one my favourite Cud albums - raw, unpolished, but brimming with energy and the sort of unrestrained vigour that only youthful naivety can deliver. Sure, the later albums were better produced, better played and more "professional". Elvis Belt proves the songwriting was there right from the start, though.
I didn't even know there was a second CD inside when I ordered this edition. Imagine my surprise -- and my wide, wide grin!

Worth the price just for the second disc alone. Included are a couple of John Peel session tracks, a brace of original versions and a Status Quo cover!
If the inclusion of the above songs isn't enough then Remember What It Is... swings it surely. A BLIMMIN' stunning cover of the Family Cat song, which will get your foot tapping for sure.

You would really have to be a complete fool not to buy this album and if you like Cud at all this is essential listening. YOU CAN LISTEN TO A SELECTION OF SONGS ON MY SPACE but this is such great value for money you can't really afford to pass this one by. Not only do you get the original Elvis Belt album but you also get a second disc which is really a whole new Cud album. Far from being a mixed bag of also ran tracks, this is full of some of Carl's best vocal work. His voice really soars here. If this were a separate album it would be one of my favorites. Come on everyone, two albums for under £7. What more could you ask? And a Christmas song too!
