Elswick Trailbreaker Dual Suspension Mens Bike - 26 Inch
Found the bike to be mainly reasonable for bottom entry level.
However there are some issues on the bike I had delivered.
Pedal crank and the rear wheel bearing's noisy and crunching, as though there is bearing's missing. found the wheel bearing's overtightened as standard.
No quality check it seems or better needed, as this could be dangerous if the spindle and bearings over heat, they could lock and shear possible causing injury or more in an accident.
The left Pedal arm has twice come loose, it happened the first time of use after about five miles, second time even after using stud lock on the nut.
It was a long walk back as I did not have the socket available to re tighten the pedal which was at risk of falling off. I was not impressed by this.
The gear change to the rear wheel is very stiff and unusable at first, I have strong hands and it took all my strength to change gear, other's tried but could not.
My skill level 20 years plus as Motor Mechanic/MOT Inspector.

I got this bike in the post 80% built it was easy
To build the rest but my 1st ride wasnt great after
About 30 seconds the left pedal became loose
And as it fell off the bike i almost fell with it.
I throught to myself ill go and tighton it so i did
And it fell off again, it keeps happening.
I know its not my fault as its a pre assembled

Nice bike to look at and to ride, unfortunately the same thing happened as in previous reviews and the left pedal fell off after only 2 days. It seems it is a common fault with this bike. The pedal came off where the crank arm joins the frame. To save the hassle of boxing the bike back up and returning it I visited the local bike shop and got a new crank arm for under a tenner!

Very poor quality

Elswick trailbreaker Dual
The bike came on the date it was due. After removing the outer box found the black handle bars had large grooves scrapped into them. I had build the bike before i have found this. Read more

broken pedal (problem solved)
