4.0 out of 5 stars Six stories from 4.5 stars to 2 stars, and ranging from romantic to erotic. 13 Dec 2008
By Jane - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
4.5 stars for WOLF'S LAW by Cheyenne McCray.
Very good, very nice, feel good story. Passionate lovemaking. Analeen was kidnapped by two men who planned to rape her and sell her. Law is a shape-shifting wolf/man who rescues her.

DATA:
Story length: 41 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 2. Length of sex scenes: 2.7 and 8 pages. Setting: unspecified time in a forest. Copyright: 2004. Genre: paranormal romance.

OTHER BOOKS:
To date, I've read one other book by Cheyenne McCray. My 3 star review of "Chosen Prey" Copyright 2007 was posted 6/28/08.

4.5 stars for LOOKING FORWARD by Mary Wine.
STORY BRIEF:
Earth is overpopulated. Some humans traveled to another planet where land is available to buy. An Amish-type community goes there. They need to pay something to the Tailarmarian people to buy the land. Leah is part of the community. Her husband recently died. The Tailarmarians come to accept payment, and Leah finds herself attracted to one of them. The Tailarmarians decide to take Leah as payment since they have a shortage of women. The Tailarmarian views and customs about sex are very different from the community Leah came from.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
Well done. It had me chuckling. There is a very hot sex scene. I like the way Aaron reads Leah's mind during sex which directs his actions. He is arrogant but he cherishes her. The story is different from most of what I read, and I continued thinking about it afterwards.

DATA:
Story length: 42 pages. Sexual language: moderate. Number of sex scenes: 3. Length of sex scenes: 1.1 to 6.4 pages. Total number of sex scene pages: 10. Setting: unspecified future time on the Tailarman planet. Copyright: 2004. Genre: fantasy romance.

3 stars for WRITERS UNBLOCKED by Diana Hunter.
STORY BRIEF:
Two romance novel authors are married to each other and in love. They each have a private fantasy that they don't act on and have never told each other. She wants to be tied up and suffer pain. He wants to do that.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
Good but not as good as the author's other stories, probably because it was so short with not enough time to develop characters and emotions.

DATA:
Story length: 27 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 3. Length of sex scenes: 1.5 to 14.5 pages. Total number of sex scene pages: 17. Setting: current day unspecified location. Copyright: 2004. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

OTHER BOOKS:
For a list of my reviews of other Diana Hunter books, see my 5 star review of "Table for Four" posted 12/13/08.

2.5 stars for VOYEURS: OVEREXPOSED by Sherri L. King.
STORY BRIEF:
Shikars live in secret, underneath the surface of the earth's crust. Daemons feed on humans. The Shikar men go above ground to fight Daemons to protect the humans. The Shikars do this in secret. They don't want humans to know that the Shikars and Daemons exist. Alek is a human who took pictures of some Shikars fighting Daemons. Agate is a Shikar woman who goes above ground with the objective of getting all of his photos and negatives and then removing his memory of these things.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
This was an odd little story. It was ok, but I wasn't surprised or delighted. Not much time was spent on plot or characters. It seemed mostly about the sex.

DATA:
Story length: 58 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 2. Length of sex scenes: 3 and 11 pages. Setting: current day beneath the earth and in Paris, France. Copyright: 2004. Genre: paranormal romance.

OTHER BOOKS:
For a list of my reviews of other Sherri L. King stories, see my 5 star review of "Bedtime, Playtime" posted 4/02/08.

2.5 stars for SCARLET SWEET by Anya Bast.
STORY BRIEF:
Different humanoid species live on another planet. Cerian is leader of the Danaan people who have rich crystal mines. Ta'bat is leader of the Sarthian people. He plans to force Cerian to marry him so he can have the crystal. Rhys is a vampire (vampire) who comes to help Cerian.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
It was ok, but if it was a stand-alone book I wouldn't recommend it. I wasn't thrilled. It didn't pull me emotionally. The beginning requires concentration and note taking about all the different species and conflicts going on. That set up might be more appropriate for a longer story, but not for such a short story as this.

DATA:
Story length: 49 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 4. Length of sex scenes: 1 to 5 pages. Total number of sex scene pages: 12. Setting: future on another planet. Copyright: 2004. Genre: paranormal romance.

OTHER BOOKS:
To date, I've read one other book by Anya Bast. My 1 star review of "The Chosen Sin" Copyright 2008 was posted 10/12/08.

2 stars for RAPTOR'S PREY by Delilah Devlin.
STORY BRIEF:
Andromeda is Captain of her own small ship. She was hired to transport a prisoner to another planet by her government. While they are both in suspension chambers during the trip, he psychically enters her dreams.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
It was ok, but nothing surprised or delighted me. There was a lot of sex scene description, but I wasn't emotionally drawn in enough.

DATA:
Story length: 46 pages. Sexual language: strong. Number of sex scenes: 6. Length of sex scenes: 2 to 7 pages. Total number of sex scene pages: 23. Setting: in the future on a spaceship and on another planet. Copyright: 2004. paranormal romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, steamy and utterly romantic 17 Mar 2006
By Alice in Wonderland - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is the third in a series of fantasy erotic tales from the queens of female erotica. This book contains six short stories, each of which are fantastic in their setting, but including hot, steamy and utterly romantic sex. I love this book, and give it my highest recommendations.

By the way, the six authors are Cheyenne McCray, Anya Bast, Diana Hunter, Mary Wine, Delilah Devlin and Sherri L. King. My favorite story is actually the first - Wolf's Law by Cheyenne McCray.
