I was first attracted to this book by its cover!! Being an avid sewer I liked the idea of creating some beautiful needlework accesories and developing my embroidery skills at the same time. Although I am an experienced dressmaker and quilter I have very little embroidery experience. I needn't have worried. The reader is guided through the embroidery stitches and making up procedures with clear instructions and diagrams. I only have one criticism of the book. Although there are colour photographs of all the projects they are grouped together rather than being next to the instructions for each project. This meant that I had to constantly flick backwards and forwards through the book. However this is only a minor niggle. Otherwise I thought this was an inspiring book and good value for money.

I have to admit, I now own all three books in this series. I need them for the patterns and identification of Elizabethan flowers.
This book is particularly lovely and has lots of fantastic 'heirloom' needlework accessories.
The Kingfisher Thimble Holder is something I would really love to make.
Extremely pretty projects!
