Book Description

18 Aug 2008 Life in Pictures
Elizabeth Taylor was one of the first great actresses to embrace the Hollywood lifestyle. Accomplished in her field and revered for her beauty, Liz's career firmly placed her in the limelight from an early age. Films such as 'National Velvet', 'Who"s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' and 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' paved the way for her to become the first actress to be paid $1 million for her infamous appearance with Richard Burton in Cleopatra. Elizabeth's off-screen life was as eventful as her on-screen one - the press fascination with her many marriages creating the kind of celebrity obsession we see today. In later life her involvement with charity work, especially her own AIDS charity has shown another side to this award winning actress. 'Life in Pictures' documents the life and career of this beauty icon, showing many images of the woman, in private and public, which will be a delight to her many fans. A detailed biography accompanies the images.

4.0 out of 5 stars Elizabeth Taylor - A Life in Pictures 4 Sep 2008
This book is a must for all devotees of Elizabeth Taylor as it contains many previously unseen photographs. However the book does contain fairly important typographical errors such as wrongly identifying Elizabeth Taylor's husbands! Also the fact that the photographs are not in chronological order after about 1948 makes it a hard book to just pick up and refer to a certain period in Elizabeth Taylor's life. However taking these observations into account this is a book that any fan of Elizabeth Taylor should own.

I adore this book - it was everything I expected and more. The pictures are stunning and the details included had me hooked. It was good value for money and a lovely insight into the legend of Liz.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a weak selection of pics 19 Feb 2011
I really enjoyed this book and a must have for all movie legends fans and not just E fans . Having said this I think it was a poor selections of photographs especially since it did not contain any photographs of her adoptive daughter maria burton not even in family portaits and some photographs were labelled wrong altogther it was a good book but the researchers only did a fair job. Which becomes to annoying too any E fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picture Book 4 Jun 2014
I'm not of authority to comment on the literature and factual information of this book, but the photographic content (which is a lot) is stunning, fantastic print quality, a must for Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton fans & those who believe a picture can tell a story.
