As has been said before - if it looks too good to be true - it probably is.
This certainly was.
I didn't buy it from Amazon but I recognized it - and the faults - immediately.
Easy to assemble, (...by my engineer husband) but that's the good stuff out of the way.
As soon as I sat, I realized this was even worse quality than the £40.00 I paid for it warranted. There's hardly any seat padding, compared to the one I had just chucked. Just as well my rump is! The 'leather' facing, well, it just isn't.
The arm fell off the second day, nearly landing me on the floor, by the end of the week, two castors collapsed, actually sending me to the floor backwards. Thank goodness the wooden sewing box that took the impact was not a bit further away or my head would have got the handle and surely caused damage (...and not to the box....!).
The outlet we got the chair from refused to take it back and sent out a new set of castors instead. (I know I could have pursued that line as they are obliged by law to take faulty items back, but for £40.00.....?)
If I want to move this chair, I have to stand up and wheel it to where I want to be.
The gas bottle regularly empties gently, leaving me sitting like a pixie on a toadstool with my knees by my nose! Not an ergonomic position, methinks.....
As I write, the arm just fell off again.
Don't be cheap - buy a proper chair!
