I've spent most of my life sitting behind a desk and working on the computer, either for school assignments, or later on in life, for various job related projects. As a result I have always suffered from back pains that were not quite the same every day. I can't even start to remember for how many years I've been complaining to anyone who would listen about my troubles. And everyone had some advice to offer; from taking specific meds to drinking herbal teas, and from visiting a chiropractor to trying to spend as much time I possibly could lying in bed. Well, all of the above helped, for a while, but the pain kept coming back until I've reached a point where I was thinking of giving everything up and finding a new job; one that wouldn't ask too much of my poor back. But then my daughter came up with this book and everything changed.

I can't really put into words how grateful I am for all the good that this book has done to me. Of course, if it wasn't for my daughter, I'd probably never get hold of it, so I have to be thankful of her as well. I won't lie though; at first I actually didn't want to start the training since, despite the clarity of the text, I couldn't actually bring myself to believe that... pain can save you from. I knew my body and all, or most, of its faults. I knew where it hurt. So the idea of starting a series of exercises that were bound to cause me even more pain was not quite my number one priority. On the other hand though, I kept asking myself: "What if?"

The "what if?" as you can understand won the day, and with my daughter's help and encouragement I've started training. There are 23 exercises in this book and most of them were too difficult for me to perform at the beginning. However as time went by I've begun feeling slight changes in my nonstop pain schedule; it was as if someone had inserted an invisible instrument into my back that started messing around with my muscles. So at some point I felt like my pain became a wanderer, something that moved all over my back, targeting different parts every time. But at the same time I couldn't help but notice that it didn't hurt so much anymore. As time went by, it kept receding, and finally, one blessed day I woke up pain-free, and for a moment I felt awe-struck, as if this couldn't really be happening.

I guess that it would be too much to say that this book saved my life, but it did change it a lot for the better. The author, with his plain and simple language, and his expertise, has paved the way for a better quality of life for me. Who could have thought that working out hard could save you from pain instead of inflicting it on you?

I'd recommend this book to one and all that face problems similar to mine; it could really change your world. I wish this was out as a paperback as well because it is a very handy guide. I've searched for a printed version but I haven't found one yet. If it does exist I'll be fast to buy it.

I'll give the author a point (more) for something: He doesn't try to convey to the reader the impression that his book can solve everybody's back pain problems, and in fact he proposes that before embarking on a training program, the first thing that you should do, is visit a physician. Working out is a good way to get rid of your pain, but at the same time it could backfire, since your body may not be able to take the exercise.

So, how to you proceed if you get the green light by your physician? With caution, especially if you are someone who's not used to working out, since at the end it all comes down to the muscles. If you don't do things right you could inflict more pain on your body, so you have to follow the instructions to the letter, and try to sort things out as you go.

There are 23 exercises in this manual and I have tried my hand, or rather my back, in every single one of them, after a long period of suffering. I came to the book with an open mind, and perhaps that's exactly what helped me get results sooner than I expected. Sometimes the right attitude can take you a long way, but of course that doesn't mean that I could do it without the proper guidance. The author, with his words of wisdom, his warnings and his simple yet sample manner, saw me through my trouble, and for that I can say nothing more than "Thank you."

Do you think that resting as often as possible or taking meds can get rid you of your back pain? Think again. As it seems working out is the best medicine and not taking it easy, while wishing for the best. Grant Michaels is of this view and as of lately so am I. I have an aging mother who's been suffering from back pains for a long time now. She used to lie in bed most of the day and night, trying to find relief by taking pills, but nothing served her well for long; the pain would always return. She said that she was willing to do anything to find relief, so I've started researching the subject on her behalf. When I saw this book and brought it to her attention she was very reluctant at first. But as the pain persisted so did I, and at last she gave in.

I won't lie; it wasn't easy for us, as I had to be with her all the time, making sure that she got the exercises right, while every now and then I had to help her perform one or another since it was too painful for her to do so all by herself. At first nothing seemed to change, but in a few days she said that she felt a little bit better, while I've also noticed that her face looked somewhat relaxed, her body language not so tense. The days that followed were easier, as the pain started to recede eventually, before pulling a vanishing act altogether. And we have this book to thank for that.

I think I've suffered from back pains my whole life; at least that's how it felt to me. Sometimes my pain was so bad that I couldn't even move a light object without feeling myself being hurt. Over the years I've tried a lot of different meds, followed advice, and improvised to get rid of it, but nothing worked; not for long anyway.

It was after a friend suggested that I should look the matter up in the internet that I came along this book. It promised results, and it seemed to have all the info that I needed, so I've decided to give it a try. I didn't have anything to lose anyway. To be honest, the idea of training to fix one's back sounded kind of crazy for me at the beginning; but as time went by my state of mind started to change. It wasn't so much that the pain went away all of a sudden, but I could feel that it got a bit lighter, which was a huge relief in itself, and the only thing that kept me going. So I kept training, mimicking the illustrations and secretly hoping for the best. And the best came. And I believe that it was the first time I felt so happy in my life. Pain free! What a wonder!

It would be no overstatement to say that this book changed my life because it did, and I'm also grateful for the fact that because of it I've avoided the worst that would certainly come. I'd recommend it from my heart to everyone who faces a problem similar to the one I had.
