I have purchased three of these flower bridges to put on railings outside my shop. They are very easy to install and become reasonably stable using the stabilising rods (or fixators as they seem to be called). They are a definite improvement on traditional boxes and I would recommend them to anyone.

Just a small point though, there should be two stabilising rods with each bridge and these are stored in the centre of the pot on special fixing points. Two of my three bridges had one of the rods missing when they arrived so I was only able to make up two complete bridges. Unfortunately it was not possible for Amazon to simply send two rods in the post and the whole bridge had to be returned and a replacement one issued. This was done extremely efficiently at no cost to myself however it didn't seem very cost effective for Amazon. Be sure to check you have both rods when the bridge is delivered.

The only other note of caution is that if you put these bridges somewhere where they could be vulnerable to theft there is nothing to stop someone simply removing the fixing rods and carrying the bridge away. A simple improvement would be if during manufacture, a couple of holes were drilled into the middle section which fits over the rail to allow you to thread something as simple as a cable tie through and fix it to the railing. This fixing would then disappear when covered with compost and flowers so not spoil the look of the display but would stop the opportunist thief making off with your property.

Overall these bridges are a great buy and I would definitely purchase them again.

I bought these to give just a little privacy on my tiny balcony as on a ground floor very overlooked. Easy to fit and the pieces that hold them in place against the balcony rail are a good idea.

I had my metal table stolen off the balcony, i decided it would be a great idea to buy some of the plastic cable ties that fit through the drain holes. By joining two together, I ran them under the balcony rail, tightened them right up and now it will be most unlikely that anyone can steal these flower bridges. With loads of flowers, they look fantastic so now have many jealous neighbours. A great product.

I had bought this product before and liked it. It is easy to fit, but I will need a replacement part as I dropped one of the fixators off my balcony. I am sure this must be quite common and I would think having an extra one with every one would be a great idea.

Had to return one of the two flower bridges I'd ordered; one of the pair of stabiliser fixings was missing and, apparently, they couldn't send the missing part...only a full replacement.

Seems like missing fixings are not unique, so be prepared to return any orders...

Good for people who do not wont a mess from hanging baskets.
Pity you lose the depth in centre, restricts planting.

I didn't buy this off amazon, because it wasn't such a good deal including shipping to where i live, but I also didn't find anywhere on the net what I discovered after I bought and used them. So, here's some information and instructions that might help using these pots and keep your plants healthy for longer.

My question about them to begin with, was how exactly their drain holes work since there are no base plates included. So, for those of you wondering about the same thing, the drainholes are a couple of inward funnels on each side of the bottom, that only rid of the excess water everytime you water your plants. The fact is, if there is already water in there, it will drain out on whatever is under your railing. In my case marble, which makes it easy to stain (but also easy to clean with some baking soda & vinegar) if rusty water drips on it. I find this a serious negative point, since I'm lucky enough to live on the ground floor, but people on higher floors might get themselves in trouble for "watering" pedestrians. It might take a while figuring out how often you should water your plants according to season and water requirements.

Yet, it is easy to avoid the yellow water stains, the same way you can avoid the soil and your roots rotting.

Just cover the drain holes which go up inside for about 3-4 cm, with some gravel before you add soil and plant anything. This will save you the dissapointment of watching your plants die because the soil at the bottom is rotting, since it will have time and space to partially dry, yet stay moist. Then add your soil as usual, and make sure you put in each pot, plants that require similar amounts of water. Otherwise, some will thrive, some will die.

Now, about the fixators, they don't always make the pots stable.
