This Concerto reveals Elgar at his finest - and is a must-have for anyone remotely interested in British music. And, reading the 'Cliffhw' 'review' would you bet against him being a sourly jealous cellist?

This is a wonderful version of Elgar's masterpiece. Lloyd Webber and Menuhin are more faithful to Elgar's score than any others. No wonder Elgar scholar Jerrold Northrop Moore selected this as the finest ever recording for BBC Music Magazine.
