Beautiful! 4 May 2005
By Sebastian Palmer TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
The eleven string guitar Sollscher uses here allows him to put in the bass parts ordinary classical guitarist wouldn't be able to reach, expanding his range in the direction of a Lute. Additionally he adapts pieces written for other instruments (for example Couperin's 'Les Barricades Misterieuses, written for harpsichord, and Bach's G minor Sonata no.1 for violin), to the guitar.

This has the feel of a very personal selection, ranging from the very well known (Air On A G-String) to the more obscure (Johann Anton Logy's Suite In G minor). This is mellow stuff, delivered with an almost Zen calm. It's fantastic music played with restrained finesse, really enjoyable!

Goran Sollscher is not the most famous classical guitarist of his time but he is certainly one of the best. These recordings feature an 11-string guitar that adds a warmth in the lower registers unusual with guitar music. The arrangements feature some famous and some not so famous pieces of music but what really stands out is the clarity and precision of the playing. Very relaxing but with enough depth for repeated listens. Excellent

Sollscher is Uniquely Outstanding !!! 21 Aug 2004

Goran Sollscher has done it again with a grrreat CD of Baroque interpretations on his Bolin 11 string cutaway classical guitar... the panorama of harmonic possibilities of the 11 string guitar truly enhances Sollscher's master-full interpretation of any classical composition with an absolutely unique & outstanding sound !!! while this CD's program is not quite as personally appealing as the music of his 2 magnificent Bach CDs [some of my favorite classical guitar CDs in a very extensive collection]- it is another well-executed example of Sollscher's uniquely charismatic sound & style- so, i would recommend this CD to any serious afficianado of classical guitar...

My amazing instrument !! 27 Nov 2009

Well, first time music from this luthist-guitarist-arrangeur; not extremely known repertoire such artist like past mid-seventeen century and early eighteen, known baroque era, germen David Kellner and Ernst Gottlieb Baron; swedish johan Helmich Roman; Bohemian johann Anton Logy(Comte de Logi) : would be long to speculate for each and everyone`s life and work but for casualties and everyone`s perticular attentionnal ear, still there is Bach(J.S), Couperin(Francois); Johann Pachelbel(not the canon, or canon and Gigue); well-known luthist S.L Weiss; one could find his/her favorite tune ! Still the global result is interesting and needs enough concentration and time discover this luthist`art work on many fields and some other disks. So it`s up to you to get it on; and the author uses different instruments along all his standard accoustic versions, toujours dans le gout du genre; c`est a dire : le noble et le plus coutumier ...translating : the sacred and the profane ! S.
