...as brilliantly realistic a film about high-school angst as one could imagine or need. There's no intrigue, and without any reason, it all ends in slaughter. The removal of media melodrama and predictable sentiment only heightens the impact of what actually happens here. An intellectual tour-de-force about adolescents - explored with a dull intensity that's interesting, insidious and perfect.

Format:Blu-ray
The film itself is a gripping and slow-burning drama that has a unique and unsettling atmosphere. The narrative is fractured, the individual stories interwoven and the characters fates are masterfully unravelled. The blu-ray quality is excellent, significantly better than DVD. The picture is very clear, the colours really stand out - and I think this is significant because Van Sant uses colour in a very measured and deliberate way. I would certainly recommend this film and that you buy it on blu-ray.

Awkward camera angles and very detached characters. This film may frustrate some people with its unique style of storytelling but will definitely resonate with you. Based on the true story of the columbine shootings, this artistic interpretation of the events that unfolded at this high school, is chilling and disturbing. well worth a watch.
