Willard Price is undoubtably my favourite author. His books are exciting, facinating and full of animal facts. This is no exception. Admittedly, it is rather strange how the Hunt boys seem to survive everything, but Price shows that this is due to their immense skills. This is definitely one for animal lovers only - people reading it purly for the adventure will find that only half the book appeals.

As we return to Africa for this offering, the reader will be glued as the two lead characters seek to fulfil their fathers list for animals. There's a whole lot of things happening within the pages and of course you really can't help but get wrapped up in the adventure as they use ingenuity alongside bravery to achieve thier goals.

As with Willard's other books, it wonderfully written with the country being the leading star which has taken many readers over the years on their own safari's within the imagination. Back that up with an obvious love for travel and seeing the unusual and all in it's a satisfying read. Magic.

The "Adventure" books got me into reading... 20+ years later and I still remember this series as the one my headmaster gave to me and hooked me on fiction. Theirs nothing really that special about the writing style, the plots aren't exactly original (young kids survive everything despite overwhelming odds) but the books are so addictive you can't put them down and I would thoroughly recommend these books to every parent to buy for their kids. Forget JK or Dahl, Pullman or Nix, Abercrombie or Paolini... Willard Price was writing his books almost 50 years before them all and they are still pure awesome.
