Amazing content. Amazing graphics.
Beautiful pieces of extremely well documented research.

Content-wise, this compendium is superb. It encapsulates the full extent of the Koolhaas-curated component of the 2014 Venice Biennale, and expands on each element with scrupulous detail.

However, the physical quality of this publication is very poor. The box does not have a back, thus the books will fall out if tipped over (completely defeating the purpose of the box). This also makes it flimsy and prone to skewing in one direction.

The individual jackets are heavy matt paper, and easily scuffed and damaged, and the books are printed with only one colour each, and black and white photography.

Incredibly disappointing to have such a poor quality of print production, given the immense amount of work that has been invested in the actualy content of the books.

Brilliant book, yet it's going to be combined into ... 17 Jan. 2015

Brilliant book, yet it's going to be combined into a single volume Taschen version this spring. This version will include Rem's introduction and it will be considerably larger. This Marsilio version only for obsessives.

A must have for an architect's desk 24 Mar. 2015

I got these for my architect husband, he loved them. I just wish the box was a bit more solid.
Substantial content but material quality could be improved 15 May 2015
By didi sun - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Love the content! It had considerable and very interesting knowledge pertaining to elements of architecture as it relates to and reflects cultural social-cultural development through history. However, the quality of the print and material used could be significantly improved. The printings were tiny and some of the plans and drawings were indiscernible which is very important when it comes to architecture. The paper is of poor quality and the printing is not as high resolution as one would have hoped at this price level. Also the case could benefited from a backside instead of it just being a hollow cube which falls over to one side.
