Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book was a Godsend. It fully explains the theory and application of vortex element analysis and enabled me to write my own code, which I would not have been able to do otherwise. This is a field in which there are few active workers as it has been superseded by finite element 3D methods, but for niche projects such as mine the information in this book is simply not available elsewhere. The only reason for the four stars rather than five is that I found a couple of typos and, as others have said in reviews, the author no longer replies to requests; he may no longer be alive?

Vortex Elements OK, but the Authors statement about availbility of the software programs is untrue 1 Feb 2013

I purchased this primarily so I could perform some of the example work given in the book. The book states that the software can be obtained from the author. I contacted the author several times requesting a copy of the software on any media. In fact I would be willing to pay the author for this, but he would not responnd to the requests. This is written in Pascal so you need to get a Pascal compiler and then handtype all the code in before you would be able to run the problems shown in the book. If the author did indeed respond as the text he wrote in the book, then this would be a lot better purchase.
