If you have never heard of m-people , you won't go wrong if you buy this album.....It will make you look for more of their albums.
I was pleasantly surprised how well it has stood up to time....always the sign of a good band.
You will recognise a number tracks as being used on the tv....another sign of quality....don't miss this album.

1 of 10 people found the following review helpful By D. Evans VINE VOICE on 6 Oct. 2007
Format: Audio CD
First coming to prominence with the single How Can I Love You More in 1993, M People became one of the best selling UK dance bands of the mid 1990s. Based around the much derided vocals of Heather Small, once described by a critic as having a voice like a trumpet, the band's most successful album was Elegant Slumming which at the height of the Britpop scene actually won the coveted 1994 Mercury Prize ahead of Blur's Parklife and Pulp's His and Hers. A decade on, whereas Parklife and His and Hers are now regarded as classic albums, Elegant Slumming is somewhat forgotten and it's hard to understand why this album won the Mercury Prize ahead of these efforts. As with many dance albums, it now sounds dated and even the most popular tracks such as Moving On Up seem to be belong to another era.
