Fabulous album. Top notch sound. Quality production. These guys really know what they are doing. About five outstanding tracks, which for me is alot for an individual album.

If you like chill-out but not sleepy beats, quality notes on sweeping keyboards, very high production values, and none of the obtrusive nonsense vocals that's become the House scene; if you like Jazzanova, Groove Armada, Nuspirit Helsinki, Zero 7, Kruder and Dorfmeister, 4Hero, ... then you ought to check this CD out. Even better, buy it. You will not be disappointed.

I just hope these guys get it together to bring out another few albums soon...

Following the success of Plej's debut album Electronic Music from the Swedish Leftcoast, Exceptional Records present this re-release the album, with a bonus CD containing all the finest remixes from the 12" singles that Plej have released + a couple of extra gems thrown in for good measure. Track 3 and Track 7 on CD02 are not available on any other release.

*** Voted ELECTRONIC ALBUM OF THE YEAR for 2003 on the BBCi web site *** *** "You" was iTunes single of week, with 1000's of people demanding the download ***

*** The album was # 1 in Tom Middleton's chart for AGES *** *** Voted into Muzik Magazine's Hot 50 - Ones to watch ***

*** Plej were nominated for a Swedish Grammy ***

The remixers include Akufen, Jimpster, Hird, new exceptional signing Cloud and Kompis. Their remixes have all proven to be successful on the radio and the dance floor, giving the smooth, sexy Swedish electronica that Plej produce a twist and edge.

Plej's reputation has continued to grow and grow, they receive superb support in the press (The Times, The Independent, The Face, Time Out, Mixmag, DJ, IDJ, Jockey Slut etc), with support all over the world. From Gilles Peterson through to Nick Luscombe and Patrick Forge on the radio, they seem to always hit the spot. Currently working on their next album, this special edition should keep their enthusiastic fans happy until the new one is ready to hit the shops!

Fantastic - a breath of fresh air. Not just your average Scandanavian electronic band.
If you liked Royksopp, Groove Armada and Charles Webster then this is for you. Pitching it's tempo above chillout but below a BPM that would become repetitive this album comes across as very sexy. Neither electronica or deep house it manages to straddle many genres comfortably and is very acomplished.
Having played it all weekend it works both as background music and even better when the volume is turned up. My only criticism is that it loses its way on the last couple of tracks but the first four are all excellent and when the sun is shining on you it all just helps you melt.
If we could have some sunshine this is the album you would need to play all sumer long. Buy it and be rewarded!
