Product Description

Product Description

For two/three-semester, sophomore/junior-level courses in Electronic Devices, and Electronic Circuit Analysis.

Using a structured, systems approach, this text provides a modern, thorough treatment of electronic devices and circuits. Topical selection is based on the significance of each topic in modern industrial applications and the impact that each topic is likely to have in emerging technologies. Integrated circuit theory is covered extensively, including coverage of analog and digital integrated circuit design, operational amplifier theory and applications, and specialized electronic devices and circuits such as switching regulators and optoelectronics.

From the Back Cover

The addition of authors Jeffrey S. Beasley and Guillermo Rico, both of New Mexico State University, is not the only new feature in this text.
Other significant changes include:

  • A new chapter on VLSI that shows students how to use this powerful design concept and put it into action.
  • Updated coverage on specific semiconductor devices that introduces students to the latest technology available in industry.
  • Improved artwork that clarifies complex circuits for students.

Excellent Book 12 Jan 2012

It is an excellent book to read and understand the concept. If you are freshman or first time learning electronic devices it is a great book to start your knowledge.
Alot of data with no explanation 3 May 2008
By enginerd - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book was the primary text for my Electronics I and II classes as an electrical engineer. It has all the formulas needed to evaluate and create circuits using bjt and fet transistors along with a great deal of other information. What it lacks though is any attempt to instill an understanding of the behavior of the circuit.

At a college level, doing any kind of work should be more than regurgitating formulas on a test form, it should be evaluating the behavior of the elements and how they are working together. If you want to learn how to solve for values in a circuit outlay this book is great, if you actually want to understand the outlay, find something else to teach you.
