1.0 out of 5 stars A Huge Let-Down 6 April 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Having been a fan of the classic Trivial Pursuit game I was looking forward to seeing the level of challenge and enjoyment being transferred to the Wii. Sadly I have been disappointed on many levels. The questions are ridiculously easy, meaning that one person takes control of the game for long periods of time, leaving others bored. The fact that they are multiple choice means that a little common sense is generally all that is required. The game does not appear to have been tested at all as the size of the writing is so small that you need to sit close to the TV and squint in order to play - I read a review that said this before I bought the game but was still shocked by just how small the type is. Too many questions rely on your knowledge of geography, involving pointing to a place on a map, so you may know the correct answer, but if you don't know where it is in the world you will not get it right. I have only played the game on two occasions, and already questions are being repeated. All of these features are combined with an annoying voice-over making patronising and irrelevant comments.

4.0 out of 5 stars Trivia Fan and I loved it!! 16 April 2009
By Clare TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I absolutely love this game! I'm a big fan of the board game and have tried other wii trivia games and this one was far superior.

I know other reviews have complained about text size but I didn't find it too much of a problem, could it have been bigger? yes. Did it stop me playing and enjoying it? no.

You have 3 different game options with this game.

Clear the board - 1 player version where you play against yourself. Every time you answer a question the space changes to a tick or a cross depending on if you got it right or not. Every question you get right gives you an extra score multiplier for that colour pie/wedge space. There is also an added dimension where there are objectives for you to beat to challenge yourself. These include things like getting a number of questions right in a row, getting a 5x multiplier on pie spaces, getting the final question right first time. You then get an overall time and score.

Original/Traditional version - the same as the board game. You have three packs of questions to choose from (same on all 3 versions of gameplay) these are Standard, All or Movie pack.

Friends and Family - This version lets you play against others on a board like the standard one but also gives you the extra options of betting on your opponents answers e.g. Do I think my dad will know who sang Tragedy - you can bet Yes, No or I know. If you say Yes/No and are right you get points towards that colour pie (you don't have to land on the pie square to win them in this version), if you say I Know and they are wrong you get the chance to answer the question after them.

Trivial Pursuit (Wii)

This game would be fun if it wasn't so difficult to read the questions. The text is so small you really have to get close to the screen to be able to read it. Hard to believe that when they were testing this game nobody commented on that. It was the first thing we noticed when we played it. So if you're buying this game, get yourself a pair of binoculars as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wii Trivial Persuit 23 Feb 2010
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
After reading the other reviews on Amazon i wasn't sure that this game would be any good but it's actually quite good fun - someone commented that the questions are repeated too frequently but we've not had one yet and we've played it a fair bit! Also another person said something about all the questions being too easy...mmmmm... well I consider myself to be FAIRLY intelligent and I don't think ALL the questions are too easy! Some are ridiculously easy but i'm sure that's for the benefit of younger players and who cares if you get a really easy one once in a while! The geography questions where you have to click on the map to give your answer are quite tricky with someone of my exceptionally poor geography skills but now at least I know where all the countries on the map are so it's actually taught me something! The only thing that's REALLY annoying about this game is how slow the wedges move around the board. But apart from that I think this game is much cooler than the actual board game!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible 29 Dec 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
The voice is exceptionally annoying, making inane jokes each of which will be repeated about 12 times per game.

Geography questions involve a map which resembles a green blob with no writing on it to mark out what is what.

Graphics generally are old NES level.

Many more problems. Played it once, that was more than enough. Awful game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could do better, see me after class..... 7 July 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I really enjoy the board game, but hate opening the box & having to put it away... so i thought this would be a good buy........

i was wrong, it's too easy!

the questions are dumbed down......

Dont get me wrong, it is still fun...... but not a patch on the real trivial pursuit......

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Challenging 22 Nov 2009

This was really disappointing. Each game is over really quickly because the questions are just too easy. I feel like I really wasted my money on this game.

This is a good game to play with teenages or to play when you have friends round. Easy to play and to use once you've got the hang of it, as with most WII games. Read more
