4.0 out of 5 stars At last! a good simpsons game! 4 Nov 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
It is about time a good one was made, and this one is great fun! The voice acting uses all the real actors and the lines had me in stiches. What makes this game great for me is the fact that it is 2 player Co-operative with lots of Wii mini games that are good fun to play against a friend. In all, this is well worth the money in my eyes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 21 April 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The game is great. The controls take a short time to et used to but after that are easy. I don't see what other people are complaining about, because the levels are good and the idea is great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and Bad 3 Nov 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Okay, straight to the point. The Simpsons Game is not a fantastic game. It doesn't have the depth or challenge or originality required for it to be considered a great game. Take away the license and judge the game on its own merits and it is a strictly mediocre, seen-it-all-before, by-the-numbers platform game with weak puzzle elements.

However, it is still very much worth at least renting. The game looks like it was ripped straight out of the cartoon and is very funny throughout. The game actually used the real characters' voice actors in the game rather than just sound-a-likes and they even had the show's animators to draw some of the cutscenes. This game thrives on its humour and image, and they're both done beautifully and it almost makes up for the lacking gaming experience. Almost.

It is definitely worth a play if you're a Simpsons fan, which you must be or you wouldn't be looking at The Simpsons Game, right? I wouldn't say it was definitely worth a full price purchase, but if you could rent it for a week, borrow it off a friend who did buy it, or pick it up cheaply second hand, then you will have a good few hours of fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better... 26 July 2008
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
The word that can simply describe this game for me is 'Meh'.
As the title says this could have been an epic game. unfortunatly i was slightly let down. The graphics aren't great (although this doesnt bother me to an extent, but I know it will for some people), but the real problem i have with this is the controls. The instructions are very small and don't stay on the screen for a great deal of time, therefore it was common for me when i started playing this game to only realize that there was instructions just in time to see them disappear again.
There also seemed to be times when i was doing the controls but nothing happened with the charactors.

On the upside there is some new clips of the show and the plot is relatively okay from what i've played so far (although the alien invasion plot is hardly original)

Overall, this game will give you somethig to do. It will keep you busy and entertained and will certainly give you a few laughs, but those with little patience will certainly hate this game. I personally think that this game has nothing on the Simpsons Hit and Run game from a few years ago. I would certainly reccommed buying that instead of this game. And I certainly wouldn't recommend buying this game for full price (I think i got this for 18)

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
The Simpson's their popular worldwide its one of my favorite shows but the games just have never been that great only The Simpsons Arcade Game from Konami back in 1991 was it's major classic game.

The Simpson's Game hit all major platforms and i bought the Wii version and firstly it does have a few bad controls the jumping parts can be bad. You will die on quite a few stages due to bad camera angles but that is something you will have to deal with. As for the Wii controls they have been put together actually pretty good and for me they worked just fine.

This game has brilliant comedy in it which adds value to the game most stuff homer comes out with is really just going to make you laugh i couldn't stop. I love the cut scene's in the game because it just looks like your watching the tv show and makes it very entertaining.

The game is based on making jokes of over games such like Neverquest which is Zelda. There's even Medal of Homer which is really Medal of Honour. I have noticed that rip offs of Donkey Kong which steals professor frink and you have to save him. A weird looking Mario and Sonic also itchy and scratchy in a rip off version of Grand Theft Auto in this you play as Marge and Lisa and take out the city making it a nice place along with you is some dogs who team up with you.

Your going to be doing team work in every level while every Simpsons Character have there own ability and some levels can be hard to figure it out or even reach the destination. Homer turns into Gummy , a bowling ball, while Bart turns to Bartman, Lisa has the hand of Buddha, Marge has her speaker phone helping to guide a mob with her, Maggie tags a long with Marge but you do play as Maggie to help flick buttons that Marge can not get to.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tragic disappointment despite fantastic graphics 17 Sep 2008
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Appallingly unplayable in many places, a hugely disappointing, criminal waste of fantastic graphics, vocal and writing talent.

Several sections, even in so-called 'easy' mode, can only be passed by the brute force application of tedious hours spent repeating the same task literally hundreds of times until by accident you succeed. And since you can't bypass them, you will be tearing your hair out in frustration as you watch your character slowly die yet again, putting you back to the start.

Sometimes puzzles are simply incomprehensible and you will often need to resort to walkthru guides to progress.

You run back and forth in front of a vital lever (button, helium point etc.), frantically pressing the 'use' button as the 'pull' icon appears and disappears, but it's a mystery to the game - "He's getting shot to pieces running around there, what CAN he be trying to do? He must want to jump on top of it" (where it becomes unuseable).

To picture this control system you need to imagine getting so utterly wasted you can barely stand, so blind drunk you've smacked into a lamp post without even noticing, then attempting to stagger home. It's like walking on a tray held by a sadistic giant, as he tips you randomly and you lurch off in different directions. Added to this, he twists your head around crazily so your viewpoint veers away from what you want to look at, constantly disorientating you. This is the game's maddening camera placement, and since the joystick moves you in relation to the camera, not the direction you're pointing, your steering is completely compromised. Other times, when you need to view something, it will simply refuse to give you the viewpoint. There might be some scenery in the way but why not make the adjustment?
