About the Developer: Harmonix
For years this U.S. developer toiled away in obscurity, with critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful music games such as Frequency and Amplitude. Then they made Guitar Hero and the rest was history. They were bought by MTV Studios in 2006, when they started work on Rock Band.

5.0 out of 5 stars better then 2 20 Dec 2010

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We have had Rock Band 1, 2 and now 3, and must say, they have improved on it each time. After playing 2, it made 1 seem sorta boring, and now the same with 3, it's so much better than 2. The harmonies added is great fun, especially for Bohemian Rhapsody and Rock Lobster. I have gotten the pro-keyboard and pro-guitar, but being they're for my daughters' xmas gifts, we've not gotten to try them yet, very sadly, amd nearly giving them to her early!

I do wish you could import songs from Rock Band 1, they could at least give them for d/l with some sort of code from the cd to prove you have it.
I also wish during harmonies, it had a seperate band for each player singing, like one on the top and one on the bottom, as it's sometimes hard to see your line when they mingle too closely. But I find it so much more playable than 2, especially doing the tour mode, which I just didn't do on number 2. If you have 2 and aren't sure about bothering with 3, I do think it's worth it.

Edit Dec 2012: 2 years on and we still LOVE Rock Band 3! The pro-keyboard and pro-guitar were well worth buying...though my daughter has proven herself on her pro-pro-drumming ability...a drummer in the making! I can't recommend this game enough for anyone who loves music, either playing or singing!

Great game which now takes up most of my wii-time.
Many minor things make it a a big improvement over rock band 2, for example easier switching of characters is a big plus as we often rotate instruments between us during parties.

5.0 out of 5 stars Serious fun 13 Mar 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Ive sang since I was about 8 - on stage in shows and choirs. Started again more seriously about 10 years ago and discovered Rock Band last year. Basically a rock chick at heart, this game is so far up my street. Rock Band 3 is harder - you really have to hit the notes spot on - on "Expert". I spend hours learning songs properly to beat my score and am amazed how high I am on the Scoreboard. I plan on singing a couple of those in public next month so Im hoping my hard work pays off.

I love that you can download songs quite cheaply. I love the challenges.

10 out of 10 from me.
