NBA Street 2 is the best basketball game yet. Although it's an official NBA product, the fact that it is playground-based liberates this from the confines of fan reverence. Instead, especially in the "Be a Legend" option, it has a great sense of humour about itself. The boss of each city, once defeated, can be added to the player's roster--and although they are caricatures, they're fondly and funnily done. Among the best are Stretch (a dunker from Harlem), Dime (a female ball-stealer who resembles the singer Pink) and Osmosis (an Oakland version of "It" player Yao Ming).
Parents couldn't find a more kid or teen-friendly game. There's no adult language, and the colourful commentary is fantastic. It's much improved from the original game's repetitive "MJ, go on with yo bad self" patter. Bobbito Garcia, a real-life streetball announcer, should get a "nice work" bonus. For that matter, so should the ambience-noise guys, who included, for example, a single cellphone ring in the background.
Those not inclined to love sports games should trust in NBA Street 2--it's visually brilliant, witty and addictive. True basketball fans should get this game immediately, if not sooner. They'll best appreciate that all the old-time players have their moment in the sun; for example, 5,000 points unlocks Dr J, and a billboard between sets advertises Bill Russell and other pioneers. Classic hip-hop from artists such as MC Lyte rounds out the impressive package. --Jennifer Buckendorff

A Basketball sim with a difference,

This game is nothing like all the other basketball sims on the market. In NBA street you play 3 on 3 matches against other NBA teams at many different street locations. Including New York, Chicago, seatlle and many more. Along with the regular NBA players you have the chance to unlock over 25 NBA and Street Legends including Magic Johnson and Strech. Aswell as that you get the chance to Create your own player and take him though the "Be a legend mode" where you get to travel to various courts around america and battle it out against all the locals.If your tired of boring old Jump shots and simple slam dunks NBA street is sure to please you. Instead of just plain old alley-oops and Dunks pull moves like "Butter" and "2 Scoops w/sprinkles." This game is truly brilliant if you like basket ball and titles like NBA courtside or 2K3 dont float your boat give this a try.

Slam Dunk!,

I have recently bought this game and it rocks! You can either just sit back and slam dunk your way through a pick-up game or take on the pros in the NBA challenge. Try Be a Leagend mode and build up your reputation in the streets. You can create your own teams and ballers or use one of the NBA teams or old school ballers. The controls take a bit of getting used to but they handle that by giving you street school mode which basiclly teaches you how to play. And there are loads of unlockables to keep playing for. In all it's a great game and I would reccomend it to anyone!

If you like big dunks,amazing trick moves and alley-oops with your waist above the backboard, this is the game for you. The best mode is Be a Legend where you create your own baller and travel around America playing on awesome street courts and beating the best teams and getting legends such as Stretch, Bonafide and Osmosis on your team. You can also do NBA Challenge, you beat all 29 teams and then get an NBA team jersey for your baller. There is also a normal pick up game and Street School. You unlock the best ever NBA Legends and courts to play on. This is a truly amazing game.
