Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

With the exclusive video game license of the NFL and PLAYERS INC., Madden NFL 07 continues to be the #1 football franchise in history. With the launch on the Nintendo Wii, Madden NFL 07 takes advantage of the revolutionary controller design and all-new Madden FreeMotion controls to create a new controller-focused experience, bringing Madden's gameplay depth alive in a whole new and immersive way.
Wii features:
New FreeMotion Controls: Intuitive new Madden controls for the Wii adding new levels of gameplay depth. Introduces a whole new way to throw like the pros do as well as hike, catch, juke and stiff arm.

Exclusive multiplayer mini-games: Wii-Only Mini Games designed to support four player gameplay. '2 on 2' brings back school yard football but using NFL players, Y.A.C Attack makes the action 3 on 1 as each player gets a shot at QB versus 3 defenders. Kicking Combine gives you a fast paced FreeMotion field goal kicking challenge.

New Wii multiplayer enhancements: Wii only Multplayer enhancements increase the fun factor for up to four players. Multiplayer Sprint allows users help a teammate by boosting sprint speed and players can control the wind in Kicking Combine.

New Play Calling system designed for basic football fan knowledge: New play calling system simplifies football to commonly understood names and makes the game easy to pick up and play. Pick plays by play type using basic tactics of football like short pass or outside run. More advanced Madden fans can still use the full NFL playbooks like any other version of Madden.

Madden In Game tutorials: New in-game tutorials teach users how to use new FreeMotion controls and allow users to practice within the game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Madden game yet, 22 Dec 2006

I played this game on my mate's Xbox 360, and i was blown away by the graphics, they were purely amazing, the gameplay however was just the same old Madden...run...pass, there were no additions to the game.
Then the Nintendo Wii came out, grabbed one and Madden. There is a bit where it teaches you how to kick, pass, run etc. and it's really easy to get to grips with. It is much more fun than the 360 version and there are alo a few 2 player mini games such as 2 on 2, which is amazing! The graphics are a little better than Gamecube version, but if you buy a Wii, you don't buy it for the graphics. Great game 8/10

4.0 out of 5 stars A definite if you love the sport, 30 Dec 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Madden NFL 07 (Wii) (Video Game)
After playing this since December I have to say I'm very impressed. I was a little unsure whether it would manage to involve the wiimote to the extent it did. As a game it is awesome, the free motion allows for great fake hitches, as your opponent actually sees what you are doing - they've done well in attempting to screen your play choices too, something that couldn't be done before.
There are a couple of problems though. The game heavily favours the offense, to the extent that 70 yard gains can be made very often - broken tackles are quite common. The controls though unique are not too friendly to first time users, but then what madden game is!
Personally I would recommend this game to people that love the game and / or have played madden before.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best NFL Game Ever, 8 Mar 2007

This is definately the best NFL game ever created.

Obviously being on the Wii, EA have made an attempt ot integrate the controller into the game as best they can and they've done a top-notch job. You are recommended to do all the training exercises before you get into this game so you can learn teh new control system, and once you have you'll never go back to the conventional method.

You use a throwing motion to throw the ball, the 3D stick on the nunchuk to run and the extra few buttons to do stuff like sprint, spin and dive. You also use the motion sensitive controller to shove players out the way, catch and tackle by thrusting them in the required direction. It all adds up to a completely immersive experience.

The only downside I can find is with the kicking where you have to flick the controller upwards. You have to get it jst right and it is frustrating and very costly when you get it wrong. You need to spend time practicing before delving into the whole host of modes avaliable, from exhibitions, franchises, 'hall of fame mode' and tournaments. There's also so much detail about every player and you get all the stats of everything from ticket prices in the addictive Franchise mode where you guide your created or non-created team through the seasons, where you aspire to win the Superbowl.

The graphics are very good, not exceptional by anyones standards but the stadiums and all the players look very realistic with the exception of the coaches who look like PS1 models with absolutely no detail in their faces. Weird.

Anyway, this the best NFL football experience you'll get without actually playing and when you finish a match, although not tired, you feel a bit exhausted mentally & physically and need a rest before the next match. The gameplay is very well balanced with the majority of my matches going right down to the wire.

If you're an NFL fan and a Wii owner - you must have this game. No excuses!
