4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 29 Mar 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I've sometimes found FIFA Street games to be a mixed bag, but the promise of varying game modes making the game play less repetitive, I thought I'd give this one a go, and overall I'm glad I did.

The same FIFA street game play is there, the game is heavily focused on using tricks to get round players and favours the attacking team as you'd expect. It flows quickly and the (by default) sort games never feel like they drag. The 'World Tour' mode is nicely set out and varys the type of game that you play by tournament/event between 2v2, elimination, 5v5, futsol etc. The difficulty increases steadily and the game offers enough in game 'carrots' to get you to try and improve, or just do it one level higher.

The team you have is fully customisable, appearances, names, etc, although typing using the normal xbox controller is its usual drag.

Graphically, it's maybe a little cartoony, but given the OTT nature of the moves the players do this feels right. There's a decent selection of places to play with distinct looks. I can only imagine the numbers of balls I've lost into a canal in Venice!

Sound wise, it's quite basic, music plays instrumentally through the games, but the track listing is limited. You can get bored of hearing the quite samey shouts as the game goes on too. Varying the voice over by which country you're playing in was nice too.

It can sometimes, particularly in tournaments when playing little known/made up players feel like you're playing the same game over and over, which obviously feels a little repetitive and can detract from the fun. But in fairness that's the nature of a football game!

5.0 out of 5 stars fifa street rocks! 9 April 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My 12 year old son recently bought this game and has been glued to it ever since, the following is typed by him and is his review:

There are many interesting and fun features combining both real life teams and street footballers with characters that you and your friends can create. Its many features include; the ability to play online, the world tour game mode, the arena and much much more. The game allows you to play as your created team (as well as all teams from the premier league, mls, french ligue 1, la liga and many more) and level up your players abilities to make them much more capable of taking on bigger teams. Whilst playing matches you have many choices of match types leading to hours on end of fun. Overall this is an excellent game for children and adults of all ages and I would definately recommend this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars I really like it... : / 20 Mar 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I love FIFA 11, never played 12, am a veteran of the previous titles too. I just really really enjoy this game. Tricks are good fun, but to be honest I use a passing game more and it does seem to work fine. Tackling is tough but once you get the hang of it then it is a matter of timing, that's all. Games are fast and frenetic, kind of basketball meets footy. Goals can be spectacular, and you have to work for them which takes practice and I am loving practising, I really feel a sense of progression and improvement. Lots of different types of game, even the freestyle is terrific once you learn a few tricks. And I haven't found that any single trick is unbeatable, even the roulette. As for customisation, maybe my expectations are skewed but I have found more individual player customisation here than in any other football game - player look, body type, limb length, hair, eyes, clothing, and multiple skills options... and you really can tell the difference in play too. Little players are fast and nimble but can't tackle so well, big lugs with long legs are the opposite etc etc.

I reckon that this is a marmite title, and I do feel that if you are even vaguely interested then it is worth a punt. Maybe the negative reviews will push the price down... The demo can share the feeling but only in a very general sense, the best of FIFA street for me is the World Tour, creating your own very personalised team, improving them, getting attached to them.

I love it *shrug*.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this game 20 Mar 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360

This game is really good :) The graphics are incredible and the new types of football games are very clever and makes the game more exciting. Also the venues are crazy as expcected and the world tour is really fun. Online is good because you can play head to head seasons wich makes online gameplay less of a drag.

The skills are crazy and the ease of pulling off some tricks is why its so fun. There is so much to do on this game that i never get bored even though i have been playing this game since the `16th!

A well deserved 5/5 for all the posibilities there are to do in this game :*

3.0 out of 5 stars Misses out on it's potential 21 Mar 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Having played Futsal at university for the past 3 years, the announcement of a new fifa street and it's more realistic approach was quite exciting. Bringing the FIFA 12 engine into Street made a lot of sense and it seemed to be the game I'd been wishing for.. for years.

However, the new FIFA Street has been a very ambivalent experience. The basic game-play struggles from a number of technical issues and the modes feature various annoyances that leave the overall game feeling unpolished. This is even more prominent when playing the game on the higher difficulties, where the computer AI seems adept at exploiting all the games flaws.

Defending/tackling isn't well done. You'll make plenty of clean tackles on a player and still not get the ball for some reason. It's clear the game's emphasis is on dribbling and attacking play, but it means if you don't have the ball you often feel unequipped to deal with people and ultimately watch more than you play. Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. If you played FIFA 12 then you're probably aware of the 'Player Impact Engine' and all the annoying clashes it produced. These are even more prominent in Street, meaning that people are constantly falling over or bumping into people - focusing the game heavily on players that are tall and strong. Again, all of these issues become most apparent on the harder difficulties.

Passing is quite inaccurate and often is just used as a reserve tactic if you can't beat the player - which is in style with the game, but it's unfortunate you can't really play a passing game - as it's a fundamental element of any type of football.
