Just bought this game and there seems to be a problem with ea/origin. i would be very careful when purchasing this game since many people including myself have encountered an error saying that the key code is already in use. ive had to contact ea and provide proof of purchase before they sent me another key. doesnt seem to only be a problem from amazon though since my friend had the same error despite buying the game from a different retailer.

hope ive helped.

I have been playing FIFA12 for a few weeks now. Game is great, but why oh why do we have to put up with Origin? I want to play the game EA, I do not want to spend ages going through several screens of useless information. When I turn on the game I often get an 'update' for Origin.. again, I dont need it!! I do not want to play online, I just want to play.. Why cant we buy the game with and register it and be done? So each time I open FIFA I must get past this awful useless bit. Waste of time.
Altogether the game has been fantastic but Origin is ruining the experience.. It is for this reason I do not give the game 5 stars.

I am yet another person who payed good money for an unopened FIFA 12 DVD at a reputable shop, but can't play the game. Why not? Because once the totally useless Origin program had installed, and I entered the activation code for the game, I got the message that the code was already used! So I'll now have to spend time and money on the phone to the UK trying to sort out a problem that is obviously due to lax security at EA. Or I could just download a cracked pirate version of the game... Perhaps that's what I should have done in the first place, because the pirate edition would probably work first time, which is better than the "official" version does! Are you listening, Electronic Arts?

I have played this game a couple of times now and the graphics and and options are very impressive. However, be warned as Origin has ruined it completely.

It took 30mins to set up the game and the first thing I was told I had to do was install an update for Battlefield 3 which I don't have! I have also out of interest checked the password reset option and the link they sent to my email address will not open.

Why oh why did EA think it was a good idea to use Origin as this has wrecked any chance of me enjoying the game.

I have been playing EA sports games since my PS1 days and think this might be the last one I ever buy.

Yet another game where product code was already in use. After 20 mins installing origin was confronted with the wonderful news that the code was already in use. No response from EA regards to their faulty product. This experience with EA has put me off buying anything that uses the horrendous Origin, a program that is supposed to stop piracy. great job thus far.

Bought this game as had it for my i phone and wanted to continued playing Fifa 12. It turned up at the right time but it would not work. The registration code that was already on the disk had already been used 6 months prior by someone in Norway. So i had to sent it back and get a refund.

I would not but games from this seller again.

Accessing the game: OK, let's get the DRM out of the way. You purchase this product and you are basically buying a licence key for the Origin download of the game. That means one you've entered the code the disc is useless - you won't need it to play the game and it has no resale value. You could throw it away or use it as a coaster. The only reason to buy the disc version therefore is that it's currently 5 pounds cheaper than purchasing directly from origin.

Origin: so you will need an internet connection to install the game and to authenticate it each time you want to play, and you need to log in to Origin each time. Personally I don't have a problem with that - my PC is always connected to the net anyway, and this kind of login based authentication has got to be the way to go. It also means you can download the game onto another machine if you buy a new one or rebuild without any disc DRM issues. But if you don't like having this kind of 3rd party software running on your machine then this is not for you. I already had Origin installed and an account set up before I installed the game, which made the experience pretty smooth for me, and I by no means have a superspeedy internet connection.

Gameplay: This is a hard game. I am playing on difficulty setting 3/5 and after 3 weeks of play I lose more often than I win. The new defending mechanics are interesting but the AI is utterly unforgiving of defensive lapses - so if you mistime a slide tackle or get into a button bashing frenzy you will be punished.

Firstly, this is the best Fifa game yet. But then why have I given this game such a bad rating?
I wanted to play this game online, but I have since discovered while it is possible to start a game, 95% of the time it will not finish correctly. At the end of nearly every game a message comes up saying you have been disconnected from the EA servers. This is a major problem with the Ultimate Team, as you are never able to earn any points. There are thousands of posts about this issue, but EA seem unable (or possibly unwilling) to fix this.

I play a lot of online games - even other EA titles, and not had any of these issues before.
