Amazon.co.uk Review

"Discover your dark side as you build your own underground kingdom", says this fantasy game in which you play the bad guy, a dungeon keeper on a mission to end the reign of the noble Reginald the Just.

You can't do this on your own so you create a dungeon with the assistance of imps. You mine gold, expand your empire and add the features to attract other low life to join your merry band. Goblins are likely to be your first recruits, followed by fireflies, warlocks, trolls, skeletons and mistresses, depending on the attractions you provide. Warlocks like a nice library whilst mistresses prefer a torture chamber in which to indulge their "insatiable (and unwholesome) appetite for pain".

Each type of creature has certain skills in battle and certain foibles: skeletons make great guards as they don't eat or sleep or use a pay packet but they're also rather dim, hurling themselves into the fray when the odds are stupendously against them. Chief among your allies is the Horned Reaper with his handy scythe-cum-sink plunger. But beware; he is potentially dangerous to you as well as to your enemies.

Battles must be fought, spells cast, creatures trained, punished and paid, an eye kept on the coffers--all the usual tasks that fall to the entrepreneurial dungeon keeper, who, incidentally, must be at least 15 years old.--Mark Whitehorn

5.0 out of 5 stars ...fantastic! 1 April 2001

A really good game. Absorbing gameplay, fab graphics and the addition of "My Pet Dungeon" mode is definitely a good one. Only one quibble though - doesn't run in Windows 2000, and when I patched my copy to version 1.61 it kept crashing :(

5.0 out of 5 stars late night pleasure 8 Jun 2004

having found myself bored with television, i scoured my draws and find DK2, and i havent looked back since. Playing till 5 in the morning one night because i was just so addicted to the game. I have had this game for a very long time, but you always find new ways of defeating the enemy everytime you start a new campaign.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wicked Fun 25 Jan 2002
By A Customer
I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed this game and was really quite put out that I could not find others on-line to play against. Still, the computer was quite challenging and I took quite some time to complete the game screens and to master all the individual dungeon scenarios.
