1.0 out of 5 stars The DS is so much more capable..., 18 Jul 2006

Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
i was so excited to get this game after i saw it on PSP, let alone i was so glad it was also on DS. once i turned it on. the main menu was so dull. after this tragic part, i got on a single event and that was called "road rage". one of my favourates. but, as it began. i was utter dissapointed. the racing is so slow. and getting a car to crash is so back breakingly annoying!!! the only thing EA has done well with this game is a good variety of options. the thing is, it's not even a burnout game! EA have not used the DS's power properly.

in all, burnout for DS is just another crap game made from a company who doesn't give a damn about nintendo and the DS. its a game with fewer cars and bigger pixles.

...

o'h god. this is depressing...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Xbox versions, 27 May 2006

Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
I love the Burnout series and have had all 4 of the games on my Xbox, so on buying my DS and finding you could get this game, I was estatic.
But, sadly, that feeling didn't last.
It is really difficult to control your car and to be honest, instead of being a mix of the best bits, it's more like a mish mash of, well, everything really.
I wouldn't reccommend buying Burnout for DS,
however, for Xbox, it is fantastic.
I shall be sticking to my Xbox to play Burnout, that's for sure!

1.0 out of 5 stars Burnout fans beware. This is not what you think., 28 Jan 2006
I've been a fan of the Burnout series since I played Point of Impact on the Cube (still the best controls in any racing game in my opinion) and although Takedown and Revenge on the PS2 didn't offer the same level of control, this was more than compensated for by the over the top carnage themes of the later titles. It was therefore with huge anticipation that I forked out 40 of my hard earned Euros on this game and with huge disappointment that I discovered that everthing that ever made burnout great has gone well and truly AWOL on this version. The controls are literally awful which make your car virtually impossible to control on the faster categories. At times you seem to crash into nothing and at other times seem to drive straight through walls or solid railings. The pursuit and road rage modes suffer in the same way from the bugs and dodgy controls and the puniness of the crash mode is, frankly, embarassing. The whole game gives the impression that the developers couldn't be bothered finishing it and just wanted it out in time for Christmas. On the plus side the graphics and speed of the game are actually quite impressive but when the controls make it virtually unplayable this is hardly enough compensation. Don't waste yer cash. I did! Grrrrrrrrrr........
